Need something to do while shooting a zillion lasers into 'roids? I have the solution for you! I'm hosting a Minecraft server on my home server, and making it freely available to the Eve-Online community. Minecraft is a sandbox game where you, basically, create and destroy construction blocks to create landscapes, towns, etc. Somebody hosted a server a few months ago, and it had a few drawbacks: Lack of space, vertically too Lack of reliability. Down often. Lack of Server Admins To rectify these issues that I've seen with the last server, I've created a HUGE map, over twice as large as the previous. I'm also hosting it on an actual server box, so uptime shouldn't be an issue. Also, I'm willing to give away server admin privileges to those who deem themselves worthy. NOTE: I haven't installed the server as a daemon yet, so watch out; if the machine goes down suddenly, I'll have to manually start it. But, be worried not, the server backs up the map regularly.

What originally turned out to be a problem with our fusebox, turned out to be a problem with the wiring in our entire house. I disconnected said problem wiring, and moved my rack to another side of the house. I also had to change my network config. i'm using a piece of crap router as a suicide box. Server's up, and the port is forwarded. Can somebody confirm that they can connect?

Zylithi Caldari Interstellar Association of Alcohol Consumption United Resistance Against Tyranny	Posted - 2010.02.08 02:07:00 - [21] I apologize for the unannounced downtime today, the server BSODd, and then got hung on "CMOS Checksum Failed" for almost a whole day. Seems the battery on the board has died. I went out today and bought a standard replacement battery, but the board seems to use a weird one. Also had to upgrade the bios, as I also discovered that an undocumented "feature" was forcefully overclocking the 3.4Ghz cpu to 3.7Ghz, making it prone to errors etc. She's as stable as a horse now :D As of right now, the server's up and running. ~~~~~ EvE-Online Minecraft Server

Looks like somebody built a huge skybridge, and somebody else is building a massive cathedral. A couple houses have also been built!
