You don't know if he was hacked. You will never know, so it's his word in question. Now, if a corp member cant keep his account secure, then he's not worth keeping. He's a risk to the entire corp. Remember, in EVE you can trust no-one.
Fire him.

This.
Unless you want to read in C&P when he brags about taking you down TWICE.

Either way, you've lost corp property, either to a liar or someone who can't keep their account secure. It's a simple choice really.

QFT. a friend who was an officer in a WoW guild got his account hacked (cleared out his character, and the guild-bank). he'd been buying gold, and the website he'd used had asked him to install a program during the process of the sale. His guild forgave him.
Then it happened again. When asked how it happened... it turned out that he'd been sharing the account with a friend, and that friend had decided to steal the account... So they kicked him for being stupid.
nothing goes as far as common sense when it comes to account security. if your members don't have it, kick 'em.
Because Karma said so.

Tell him to petition it and when everything that was stolen is back you can consider it again.

i Agree, its his word you have, unless he can produce evidence of this hack, but honestly other than a GM telling you, how could he really prove it in the end anyways.
the big old boot is the sad reality... plus i dont believe that, yes it could happen but does he still have nice ships because if he was hacked they would have drained EVERYTHING, from him too. GTC's can fix that i guess but.. still.. the excuse seems to easy for me.

They're either lying or incompetent, which one would you let in your corp? I know it seems harsh, but you can't have these folks given complete access. If you let him stay I think it would be sending the wrong signal to the troops. Access is a privilege and a trust, if you betray it, you're out.
We have Directors that would pod me without hesitation if I commit a "pod-able offense". I toe the line because I've seen it happen to others.

Tell him too bad, your account has been hacked too. Then kick him.

Edited by: Lexx Khadar on 30/01/2010 10:32:04 If I was in that situation I'd err on the side of caution and get rid of him anyway. You can never be too sure. If they cant be relied on enough to keep their account secure then you likely don't want to depend on them full stop.
