Today I released three tools to every clone out in New Eden: 1. OTC - Ore Time Calculator 2. BPM - Blueprint Production Manager 3. CSS - Character Skill Summary
This thread is about the OTC and collecting your feedback. If you encounter any weird behaviour or have suggestions for further features, please post here. Since english is not my native language, pardon any translational errors - but please tell me to fix them if you see some really disgusting ones ;]
What is the OTC? Simply put: you need a certain amount of minerals? It will tell you, according to available asteroid types you can select, which ores to mine best and how much of each type exactly. It calculates the total time required to rip those roids apart, how often your haulers will have to warp around and the ISK-values we're all after eventually.
What/Whom is it good for? Rather obvious - miners ;] ...maybe even a bit more useful to people who only occasionally mine, because those hardcore roid huggers have some kind of supernatural feeling for estimated mineral refinements even while their strips are still cycling. ^^ You can either use it for your own needs or get a nice overview of required work/ore/ISK for a larger corporate rock busting operation. Provide some numbers, like minerals required, the total mining yield of all your miners per minute and the total cargohold of all haulers, and you'll easily see how many units of which ore you'll need as well as how long that operation will take.
Features? I tend to write too much, so... check out the features on the "community tools" page of our all-new website: http://www.xn7.de You'll see a couple of screenshots and more about the other two tools. Account creation is free and requires nothing personal - no email, no EVE related stuff, etc.
Free? My stuff? As several other players (Chribba, Wollari, Gripen, + many more) already serve the community with quite substantial services, I thought of contributing my share as well.
One account grants access to all three tools - and that's where you should also take a look at the BPM. You set up a few blueprints, have it calculate material requirements and pass those numbers to the OTC - very handy. You can also enable a read-only login by a specific password - this allows corporate use, without the risk of your members going bonkers on the major settings or even deleting a serious collection of blueprints.
This tool has been out there for a while, but only for a small base of users. Now it got a major overhaul and made its public release to a browser near you. Beta-testing was extensive and rated as being ready for all of New Eden - thanks again to everyone who's been with me so far trying to abuse it and discovering bugs. :]
TL;DR: 1. http://www.xn7.de 2. Community-Tools -> Register 3. ??? 4. Profit!
fly safe, reckless, whatever - have fun :]
CCP: if that copyright notice on the bottom of each page shouldn't suffice or anything else is needed - feel free to contact me any time. (devhax my account to get my email =])

Yeah I know that myself. Register here, register there - it can be a bit annoying.
However - the registration actually enables a lot of comfort. If I had chosen to not use any kind of registration but a fully session based system, you'd lose every kind of setting and price upon closing the browser. Cookies are rather unreliable as well - most browsers allow session-based cookies by default only and if you clean up your browser cache and cookies, again all your settings could/would get lost.
And the registration is for all three of the available tools, of which the OTC has actually the least deal of saving settings. If you mine, the chances are good that you also build stuff every now and then. The BPM will make your life easier - at least thats my opinion of it, and it'll see some more features and improvements over time.
And to clarify the download-bit: its fully web based, no download at all. You may use it from your ingame browser as well :]
But thanks for the input. Like I said, lots of registrations everywhere - I hope you'll find that the easy anonymous account creation and a small login form should be worth the deal of not having to reconfigure settings and prices each time you visit the site :]

I found that a few people were running calculations without selecting any other asteroid types than the initial one, namely Veldspar. As this will return "Pyerite not available, you need to buy it. Mexallon not available, you need to buy it." (and so on) I worked out a little hint box which only appears if you have no other asteroid types selected than Veldspar.
Should avoid those "wat?"-moments if the OTC tells you that no mineral->ore-combinations are available ;]

Now featuring: import mineral prices from eve-central.com and eve-metrics.com. \0/
You can fetch buy and sell median prices from all regions average or from a specific region you may choose. Updates can be performed once per hour. Enjoy. =]

Small update for your comfort:
- Auto-login feature, which skips the language selection and login form. - IGB-Support improvements, now automatically asking for trust so you get items linked to their showInfo- and showMarketDetails-windows in your IGB.
Also updated the OP post and title, since I was told that my marketing was somewhat sub-par. ;]
Lord Helghast: Argh, sorry, didn't spot your edits. - Will add the user-configurable refining/station-things to my 2do-list and check them out. - How do you mean, "setting a pilot for the BPM"? In terms of production skills? That would be fairly extensive, to check if any required component matches the producers skills. The most important one, "Production Efficiency", should be at level 5 anyway - at least if you're serious about producing stuff without loss. ;] - Mineral prices in the OTC are intended to be separate from the BPM. The OTC uses both buy and sell prices, the BPM only sell prices (since thats what a product is worth, no matter if you use it yourself or offer it on the market... you could have sold the materials/components, so going with buy prices would skew profit values.)
But imported prices (EVE-Central / EVE-Metrics) are cached in my database and the OTC import-delay-timer is separate from the BPM timer, so its only one click more to have both at the same values. People might have private "truckload mineral sale agreements", so I figured having them separate is more of a benefit.

- The price import delay got reduced from five minutes to 60 seconds.
- Added selections for the type of buy / sell prices to be imported from EVE-Central / EVE-Metrics.
- Instead of using the median price everywhere, you may now choose it more precisely - e.g. "max. buy price" for buying minerals and "min. sale price" for selling minerals - or - "min. sell price" for buying minerals and "median sale price" for selling minerals.
- Whatever - up to you now, way more flexible than before. :]

- The ore table and the excavation calculator will now take your skills in to account, if you wish to.
- Simply import a character in to the CSS-tool (by API or XML) and you can select it in the "settings" page.
- You can also define the stations refinery base yield and your standing towards the station owner. Works for (upgraded) outposts too, since you can just enter the stations base yield percentage number.
- The ore table itself got some improvements amongst the other changes - the values for "ore units per batch", "ore unit m3" and "batch m3" were moved in to a mouseover-infobox next to the ore name, which also shows the refining and processing skills for each ore. By moving these contents to the new infobox I gained some space which is now populated by a new column for "ISK/can" which shows you a full jettison containers ISK worth of each ore at a glance.
- This ain't mandatory - if you do not want to provide a character, it assumes perfect skills just as it did before.
- Some text and description improvements.

Updated the OP post - especially the feature lists and screenshots - since several things changed and/or new features were released.
Check out the other tools too - one account grants access to all of them and there are quite some nice synergizing features between them. :]

Great tool. I wouldn't mind seeing the ISK/UNIT on the ore chart, I often am interested in unit value and it would be nice to forgo the manual computation.

Thanks. :] Easy thing, added that - see patch notes below. Be sure to check out the BPM as well, if you didn't yet - it calculates the mineral needs for your products and you can just pass them from there over to the OTC. :]
- Your price import settings (source+region) will now be saved and preselected. Settings are separated for the OTC and BPM, so you may have different selections if you wish.
- The Ore Table now additionally shows ISK/unit for each ore if you place your mouse over the according ISK/m3 column.

- Tyrannis - Quick Update:
- Imported the most recent EVE database dump. Now delivering data for Tyrannis 1.0 =]
- OTC: now calculating with the new mineral composition of certain ores. See this thread for a quick overview.
- BPM: using the new DB dump, some PI items made their way in - but not the schematics ("PI blueprints") yet. CCP will release them at a later point. Will see if there will be tools for them. :]
- CSS: the new set of skills got enabled.
- The Tyrannis image pack is not available yet, new images (e.g. new skillgroup in the CSS charts etc.) are showing replacement ones for now. Will be updated silently when they become public.
