Personally, if I'm hauling something that's even a little bit valuable I equip a Prototype Cloaking Device. But whether it's actually worth the cost, or will save your bacon? Well...maybe. Even if you align while cloaked, a typical transport's warp speed is too slow to save you from getting scrambled.

You can only jump a transport via a Covert Portal (fitted on Black Ops) or regular Portals (fitted on titans). Thus; Transport -> Covert Portal -> Covert Cyno/Regular Cyno So you need a a Black Ops to generate the Covert Portal for you. Secure 3rd party service

Transport Ships can use the Covert Jump Portal which is fitted to a Black Ops ship. Transport Ships cannot fit a Covert Cynosural Field Generator. Only Covert Ops Ships, Stealth Bombers, Black Ops, and Fleet Recons can fit and activate the Covert Cyno. Every ship that can fit a Covert Cyno has a note in it's description: "Note: can fit covert cynosural field generators " Transport Ships have no such note. My Covert Cyno pilot, who can also fly Transports, has tried to fit one and I can confirm for any who are still confused: it isn't allowed. -- Nah, that's just my Asperger's kickin' in.
