O*** so.... we scanned out a class 5, jumped through with a carrier and a bunch of battleships..
Now we want to leave, but the only wormholes we can find lead to other w-space systems...
What's the best strategy for escaping, just keep jumping through and scanning out the next or sit and wait for a wormhole that exits to kspace?
problem is our fleet isn't very mobil...
Any advice is appreciated.

Just wait. There is always a way back to k-space, but that doesn't mean you won't have to go through 5 other w-space systems to find it. With a large fleet, that isn't very practical. So just wait until you have a suitable wh in your home system or at most, 1 jump out. You brought a carrier so one would think you planned on staying a while. Just keep raiding all the sites that spawn. You'll get out eventually. -----------------------------------------------------

I was "4 deep" in a Class 6 for over a week. Yeah it can take a while to get out. But look on the positive side: your cargo will be full of sleeper loot by the time you get out.
It's fun really: you are truly "out there". It's Lost in Space - Danger Will Robinson!!!
In time you will find a way out. This is the true test of wormholing. I have seen people get scared and pod themselves out because somehow, a day at most of scanning was too much for them. Really being lost deep in WH space does things to some people, like a kid being lost on the woods.
The best part will be the remote 0.0 systems you might find and fully exploit. Just keep your team from giving up. Eventually you get home. I crossed EvE space once, hit 0.0 radar sites, and eventually ended up in high-sec only two jumps from where I keep my stuff. The entire expedition was over three weeks - almost didn't get to claim my sailboat or whatever they call that thing they were giving away.
The best advice is to be patient. Eventually you will like being lost. This is exploration.

@Above

Oxymoron is an oxymoron
But yeah, basically just sit and wait. You're totally and absolutely 'lost' for the time being. It's a game, just go with the flow :)

Scan and jump until ur sick of doing both, eventually you will find a way to empire.
Better chance then sitting and scanning down the same system after every reset.
also make sure the carrier jumps last or you can collapse a wh and split your fleet.

I would go for C3 from C5 if you find any - the chance for low sec from C3 is much higher then from C5.

The static exit from your c5 is probably to another WH system. To bring your carrier out, the WH to the static system will have to support the mass of your carrier, also make damn sure that the static exit from the WH you are going into supports the mass of your carrier as well.
Personally I would just sit tight where you are and wait for another hi mass WH to open into the system where you are. From empire or 0.0 that is.

This post almost makes me wanna take up wormholing myself. Sounds like a fun sport! -- "If itĘs true that our species is alone in the universe, then IĘd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little" George Carlin |
