I've been searching around lately and it seems like there are a few threads on the proper solo PVP Wolf fits but few if any fits geared more towards a fleet. What I'm looking for is a very straight DPS/Slaying Bodies fit. What made sense to me was something like this:
Lows: 2x Gyrostabilizer II 1x Tracking Enhancer II 1x Damage Control II
Mids: 1x 1MN Afterburner II
Highs: 4x 200mm AutoCannon II 1x Rocket Launcher II
However, this only gives me 110DPS and 307 volley in EFT with my current skills and that seems like it's on the low-end. Not to mention this barely fits with a meager 3ish CPU leftover. I'll be in a fleet with this ship so I don't need much of a tank and this doesn't really seem like it has enough gank to be very effective. I'm very new to small-ship PVP so any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Edited by: Kirzath on 06/02/2010 06:41:00 You clearly lack the skills to fly a Wolf if you only get 100 DPS with that max-gank fit. Try a Rifter instead, it'll be much lighter on your wallet and offer the same performance.
Also, you'll definitely want a Microwarpdrive and NOT an Afterburner in order to move from target to target quickly (let alone catch them in the first place), and you'll also want a Warp Scrambler to hold them down once you close the distance. Add a Medium Shield Extender or a Webifier if you're using the Rifter.

You are right in that I currently lack the proper skills for the Wolf. I am currently in a Rifter as my corp and I train up for/get the hang of small-ship PvP. ISK is not an issue. What you are saying then is that, with good skills, that fit would be workable? Microwarpdrive makes more sense for getting to targets more quickly, but I could foresee potential issues about being inside Warp Scrambler range whereas the Afterburner does not suffer from that issue. Does the speed benefit of the Microwarpdrive outweigh the risk for being scrambled?

You mentioned being in a fleet, which decreases the risk of you being primaried and shot at. Even with an Afterburner, you're not going to last very long if everyone starts shooting at you.
With this in mind:
[Wolf, Fleet Work] Gyrostabilizer II Damage Control II Tracking Enhancer II Overdrive Injector System II
Phased Monopropellant I Hydrazine Boosters J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
200mm AutoCannon II, Barrage S 200mm AutoCannon II, Barrage S 200mm AutoCannon II, Barrage S 200mm AutoCannon II, Barrage S [empty high slot]
Small Projectile Burst Aerator I Small Projectile Collision Accelerator I
200 DPS with 20km falloff using Barrage, 250 DPS with close range ammo.

Let me put it this way: with an AB, you can be outrun by a cruiser. This certainly sets off a few alarm bells in my mind. You're in a frigate, you need speed and tackle otherwise what are you doing flying it? That's exactly the reason the Retribution is worthless and it applies here as well. _________________________________ Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes.StevieSG |
