I am a very new pilot that wants to get into some PVP, be it in small gangs, big fleets or solo. What are some ships and modules that are cheap, low on skills yet effective for PVP? also, maybe some tactical tips as well. i hear good things about minmatar ships like the rifter and rupture, and some of the new rebalanced frigates. thanks

Rifter is still a great speed boat.
Rupture is one of the nastier toys out there.
Tormenter is a good kiter
Punisher one of the best brawlers.
Merlin another great frig.
Tristan and Griffin also.
Not too sure on the others.

This was written before the frig/dessie buff but the overall information is still good and more recent than most other guides.
As for ships, the rifter, merlin, incursus, punisher, and tormentor are all good options. Destroyers are a great option if you want to spend a little more and fight AFs.
My only other advice would be to join a chat channel of a well known pvp organization that doesn't mind offering tips and hints. Most good pvpers will be extremely approachable and happy to help. |
