Begging me pardon if I break the trolltrain, but it is worth noting that the last few weeks have been filled with both good and bad fights for both sides. There's been battles worth their spot in the history of eve, as well as plenty excellent smaller fights and skirmishes. Having a long and diverse personal history with UNITY station, being able to capture it (finally =P) was most enjoyable.
For as long as I've known them though, CVA has always had one more fight for the occation, even if you figured them done. And for this particular occation, I don't think they're finished at all.
Until we meet on the field of battle (or in a belt if you're that sort of chap =P), fly safe and may your ventures bode well for you :)

UK based in Providence and ran NRDS (ie neutrals could dock, rat, whatever) long before you were even playing the game. UK lost the sov war in Providence, and were on the back foot for a long time.
However, if in the future UK was to secure the removal of CVA, we would naturally apply NRDS in our space once more. We are, at heart, an NRDS alliance who has adapted intelligently to changing circumstances. This adaptation has enabled us to not only recover our strength, but to be stronger than we ever have been.
Many alliances die after losing all their space. We didn't. The RP holds the alliance together. The core RP principals remain, and the core of UK is an NRDS philosophy which we would like to return to fully, in all areas of EVE.
But we will not allow neutrals to fill the coffers of CVA unchallenged. Their business model rests on refinery and station fee income. Should CVA be removed from Providence, we would of course allow neutrals use of our space and stations.
from a purely personal side i'd love to be the roaming guerilla for once! afraid i won't be allowed to missed all the fights as i abhorr the blobbing eve has become over the past years (well back in 2003 5 cruisers were a blob) so can't say anything about them.

On the contrary, it seems pretty apparent, to me at least, that a high percentage of the anti-Providence rhetoric comes from or is influenced by UK in some way, shape, or fashion.
CVA has spent half a decade carving out a niche, oftentimes at their own expense, in a cold dark and harsh region of space so that everyone can come and peaceably enjoy all the game has to offer. They have done so through thick and thin, success and failure, and through all the vast changes this game has gone through over the course of many years. And regardless of whether you like or dislike their position in the roleplaying world, this is a game, not real life, and that means everything is voluntary, so please spare us the ubiquitous roleplaying response.
What has UK done in the past five years to make the EVE community a better place for all? Whether you wage war or not against your neighbors, you should make it your goal to make this game a better place for all, insofar as the alternative is self-defeating.
My views are mine alone and do not reflect my corporation, alliance, or those I hold in the highest regard within the Greater Providence area and outlying regions.
When is Fatal Ascension getting real estate? Has CVA let you guys set up POSes yet?
I bet AAA would rent systems in Providence to you. My old alliance has more people than Sylph!

Garreck has been that way for as long as I had been fighting him (even if it has been a while since then.) A straight up guy.
One of the best parts of Eve is its history. No other game give you that feeling. It's been a while since Unity Station got redecorated. I suppose it will be time again soon unless Providence has something to say about that.
Congrats to Urshr'Kahn (and of course -A-) for sticking it out until now and spicing things up again in Providence.

Yeah, bpo for each Titan, I'll contract them across later.
Actually I have only been in HED once the last few months and I was just passing through, we have some more interesting space to roam in now that ZAF are gone and LR/Sys-K/+Pets are in Period Basis.

No I didn't, I said that it was the only tactic CVA use. You've clearly misrepresented me.
The only problem I have with blobbing is that it simply kills any prospect of having a fight. For example if 30 U'K BCs enter a CVA system and the response is for them to bring 50 BS and 5 Guardians then the result isn't a crushing defeat, it's that no fight takes place. But if their purpose is to rid their space of us rather than to have a fight then that's understandable.

Not today at least. They dropped 4 SBUs to 9UY today, but I don't know what kind of master plan was behind that as there was no fleet. All SBUs are down already. ;)

A bit late, but I will add my little bit (especially since my PvP skills are mediocre at best).
First, thanks to CVA for the pewpew. I think it is occasionally overlooked that it took balls to push into SV5 and other systems, and it took fortitude and planning to defend D-G.
It also took guts to make the call about 9U that CVA did. Its not always easy to make strategic decisions of that magnitude.
Thanks CVA for bringing the fight, thanks for participating in it, and looking forward to more pewpew in the future.

I feel much the same way about U'K, who has showed much determination and some great piloting over the past few weeks. Congrats on capturing 9uy, I legitimately mean it (even though I desperately wish you had failed to capture it, losing the system has been tremendously inconvenient =P )
Be sure to buy the many billions in assets that I've had to put up for sale in station

Thanks for helping to prove my point, friend.
In what way does that prove any point of yours? U'K are NBSI in Providence and Catch and NRDS everywhere else. This is because we are an RP alliance who is waging war against CVA and it's holders. Any neutral in the area is aiding their cause by trading, docking, repairing etc in the region and feeding the CVA war effort as a result. We have no alternative but to shoot them on sight. Additionally, if we didn't, CVA would simply use neut alts against us and for their own betterment.
But aside from UK, all of Eve come to Provi to prey on noobs and unsuspecting neutrals, it's like a gankers training ground for any budding pirate. CVA has also set most major 0.0 alliances as red and so when they come to town seeking a little CVA blood it's the neutrals who get caught up in the reprisals. This is a situation CVA have happily engineered, not UK.
So from an RP standpoint, you come to free your people, but kill, maim, and plunder any refugees that you find along the way?
Originally by: Xennith
Nothing proxy about it, we fought you ourselves. And its been a little longer than a year. Because you are red mostly, but also because anyone supporting CVA is fair game.
I think its good that you have that little disclaimer, you dont seem to be very familiar with the current or past political situation. Im happy to correct your misconceptions.
What I do or do not understand and whether I am purposefully accurate or inaccurate at any given time is for me to know and for you to imagine.
My views are mine alone and do not reflect my corporation, alliance, or those I hold in the highest regard in the Greater Providence area and outlying regions.
I love to kill, maim and plunder refugees... and I don't mean necessarily in that order. Especially the plunder part, if you know what I mean.

Sorry but it took idiocy and complete misunderstanding of eve reality to push into SV5. Unless this was all a dramatic gambit to bring Hardin back to the game in which case, Bravo.
