I have been spinning my ship far to long. i know the amarr has good ships in most classes but what are fun to fly and really shine?
out of inties/sentinel/recons/hacs/bc what should i focus on? i have frig/cruiser/bs at 5 recons 4 (never flown one) and t2 large pulses with decent support so i can start training towards any.
tl:dr what t2 amarr ships do you like to fly?

I'm a big fan of the zealot.
Properly fitted, a sniper zealot pushes out more DPS then the munin, while going faster.
But what i really like about the zealot is that you can completely refit it into a face melting close range ship at the drop of a hat.
With room for dual sensor booster for optimal kill mail whoring, you can often out lock ceptors.
With scorch your optimum is around 38km. meaning you can reach out and whack someone from clear across a regional gate without having to move an inch.
All this with 44k effective HP.
I ♥ the zealot.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Crusader is a very fun ship to fly if you like fast-paced frigate combat.
I also like my Pilgrim a lot, though most people tend to prefer the Curse over it. To each their own I guess.

Zealot is the best of the best of the best.
I look forward to flying the Pilgrim soon.

I fly a Curse but if I could go back in time and change my decisions in terms of training I'd have to say Harbinger.

Edited by: Darthewok on 10/02/2010 09:46:47 this probably goes for everyone trying to figure out what ships to train for.
ask yourself the following: 1) what is the size of group you fly with: solo, 1 to 2, small group, large group/fleet? 2) what is the size of groups you fly against: solo, 1 to 2, small group, large group/fleet? 3) what type of ships do your fleetmates usually fly? 4) what type of ships do your opponents usually fly? 5) where are you PVPing - 0.0, low-sec, high-sec? Are gate guns and station games an issue? 6) how fast/mobile do you have to be to keep up in fleet? 7) what are the tactics used/ships encouraged by your FCs/corp/alliance? 8) is your corp/alliance outnumbering/about equal in numbers/outnumbered by opposing forces? 9) which role do you enjoy in fleet? 10) can your budget sustain your ship choice?
the answer what ship to train for varies A LOT with your answers to the above questions..

Originally by: Defoncer1337 vengeance yes
I find your implication that the Vengeance is good for anything but spinning in station (which it is quite good at as it's a gorgeous ship) unlikely to be true

You definitely should try crusader and harbinger! Zealot and guardian are also very useful.

For small gang / solo work you should start with the Amarr Ceptors (the Crusader pwns for solo, but not very effective as an all around tackler compared to a Malediction) and possibly the Sentinel - notice that the sentinel requires a set of skills (drones/energy emissions/Tracking Disruptors) that are geared towards the Recon ships, while the Crusader is more of an all-out turret-gank boat.
The Zealot is a nice HAS and it's almost exclusively a Gang boat, as it has serious weaknesses for situations where you fight close to the enemy, tackling yourself (lack of drones, lack of ability to fit effective tackle etc...scram/web setups are possible, yet that's more of an Omen Navy Issue role).
The Sacrilege is a very decent ship if you wish to invest heavily into missile skills, tho it's in general a slow HAS with kinda limited range. It can be fitted with a great tank, tho once seriously outnumbered you will go down anyways. The superior range of the Zealot is way more effective in gangs, and medium turrets can engage fast/small stuff way more effectively than HAMs can.
The cookie-cutter ship for both gangs and solo with decent price/performance ratio is the Harbinger. A lot of versatility. Tanks, gangs, tackles heavy stuff etc...costs way less than the Sacrilege (or the zealot) after insurance.
Yes, there are other choices reachable by low skill PVPers, like the Arbitrator or even the Maller. Guardians and BSs and CSs etc, are great, tho skill intensive and require a different approach of PvP in general.
I like the Zealot in gangs, tho i grew tired of it. I really adore the Crusader. BSs are great tho limited in their own way of pwnage.

Best solo race is minmatar end of story. Second best would be galante but far far behind.
So if you want to solo a lot then you will have to wait until you get to the curse and pilgrim, they are most efficient amarr solo ships ( i like curse much much better ).
Generally best amarr ships are :
Frigate : punisher , crusader , sentinel ( a bit slow but kills frigates ) Cruiser :arbitrator , curse , pilgrim , ZEALOT ( pulse nano fit for small fast gang with vagabonds or beam for sniper gang it melts shield tankers from 40km - 50km very fast ) , sacriladge its good solo boat but low dps you need to have almost perfect missile skills. Battlecruiser : Harbinger ( good for solo work early on and for gang , very versatile for an amarr ship can do full dps good tank armor or shield ). Battleship : Arma , Apoc , Aba all are great in small gangs and on ... not that great for solo.

Edited by: Darthewok on 11/02/2010 08:05:24 common applications: a) solo/very small gangs on a budget: punisher, crusader, harbinger b) solo/very small gangs premium: geddon/baddon, curse, pilgrim, sacrilege c) big gangs/fleets: crusader/malediction/heretic(tackling/0.0 bubbling), harbinger, geddon/baddon for short range, apoc for sniper BS d) sniper HAC gangs: zealot e) stealth bomber gangs: purifier
amarr is well covered for c-e) basically group stuff. it has less outstanding ships than minny for a-b) solo/small gang stuff though. (though curse is arguably the best of all)
