Now you may say "Oh well Goons just got dispanded and lost all their space and bla bla bla" but well.. Goons are.. no comment... keep in mind this is a 35man newbie training corp ;)
Well some of you might have read this topic(if not I recommend reading the first few posts)
I joined this corp to help them out in their war against Nemesis Nation, but guess what?, it turns out the CEO of the corp Cattegirn is an *******. Now you might say "Why would you say such thing about him?" Well you are about to be given the reason to this, a document with saved convo's, mails and forum posts showing how Cattegirn threats his so-called friends like he was the boss in a slavepen.
WARNING!! this is an 20 page long document of pure drama, read with caution! WARNING!! Cattegirn - His True Colors
Yeah I know what you think, why the hell should we read it all, well you shouldn't, read abit of it. It will give you enough insight to know what kind of person he is.
I thought I'd share this fun ****, but mainly it's for the members of Nemesis Nation and Rampant SR to read.
And as Cattegirn likes to say "RL commitments.... Bye!!"

I have no idea who the involved are, but I did read the chatlogs you posted.
In the first one (a private convo), Cattegirn (the ceo?) promotes Angel Petroni and asks him/her to "keep your emotions under more control than you did in the past two days. Ok?" Specifically he asks Angel to stop whning about loosing ships in corp chat. It ends with Angel Petroni going idle and Cattegirn giving up with the promise to "have this chat later."
The second chatlog (also a private convo,) Cattegirn reminds Angel that the "good things he has done," have been rewarded and suggest that a two-week hiatus from EVE might help put things into perspective for Angel. Angel then appears to continue complaining about lack of respect and how being told to STFU.
Cattegirn appears to want to explain what the rank of "SQUAD LEADER" contains.
The logs appear to be about a war dec. Cattegirn shares his frustrations with Angel. Cattegirn apperas to have a lot of stupid panicky members by the looks of it...
2010.02.10 02:19:06 Cattegirn -> I can't fathom how a war dec makes people feel lost. I think maybe Eve isn't the right game if that's the case.
In the following conversation, Cattegirn suddenly leaves. In the chatlog someone has added the reason as "logged off," despite Cattegirn explaining "RL, need food" in the next chatlog. (It is worth nothing this transparent manipulation of events. Even IF Cattegirn logged off in a fit, his claim that he was going to eat is still valid.)
Then Angel sends his resignation in the form of a long and somewhat tearfull EVEmail
Then the "logs" become copy-paste of a forum-post by Cattegirn. I asume they bare internal instructions to his corp. I have read them, and they all make sense. Tells people to play the game, form gangs, kill stuff, make ISK and all that. It is the sort of thing you might expect from any leader of any corp.
And posting + locking the OP makes Cattegirn a total win in my book. He tells people to play eve, quit their whining or find another game.
Quote: If a single war with a bigger corp - which I might add we've been doing fine with - is enough to put you off Eve or make you feel lost, especially in light of the amount of guidance I've given over the past couple days, frankly you need to find another game.
There really is no reason for cattegirn to allow further discussion in that thread. This is mainly due to the fact that he bothered to include links to no less than four seperate threads (not included in the leak.) The threads are titled as thus:
Haine Takeover
Goals and what we do
Nemesis Nation War
General Directives for officers - includes ship fitting and fleet composition recommendations and three specific activities for fleet roams.
Then things appear to have turned nasty. People calling for the corp to disband and all that panicky stuff noobs do.
Here is a tidbit that illustrates how much fail Cattegirn must have been dealing with:
Quote: [2010.02.10 19:59:05 ] Cattegirn > If this war is enough to lose members, they weren't really good to begin with, frankly. [ 2010.02.10 19:59:14 ] Dragan Dragon > that is disgusting [ 2010.02.10 19:59:21 ] Dragan Dragon > war in empire is no fun [ 2010.02.10 20:00:11 ] Cattegirn > Sorry, I wouldn't leave friends because of a war [ 2010.02.10 20:00:24 ] Cattegirn > I can't really relate to those that would [ 2010.02.10 20:00:39 ] Dragan Dragon > ah i see that
Dragan/Captain Seese then goes on to elaborate on how "empire wars are no fun," making it transparently clear that he wants cattegirn to disband and merge with someone else. Cattegirn declines... BRAVO!
To summerize An objective analisys of the provided logs supply proof that Cattegirn communicates much like any corp-leader. Some of his members have acted in a disruptive and defeatist way and he attempts to correct that but eventually gives up, forumbans the whiney little bastards and moves the corp on from there.

I too read the chat logs. Sorry but the op wasn't whining. The ceo was doing something called emotional manipulation. He was also making the fault of everything going wrong everyone elses fault but his own.
Ugh.
His corp mates are right. If you want them to work for you, make it about their corp, not your ego. I'd also add, can the emotional manipulation bit as well.
To the op he communicated quite clearly. Kudos to you for standing up for yourself. United we stand, divided we fall. |

I'll actually agree with Lunas's post here.
When I started playing EVE, I was part of a struggling small corp with a new, and very upper-minded, long-term swearing CEO. He played the game with the air of a general, and went on daily ego-trips. After I refused to lead our miners to become the workers and producers for the "PvP" wing (Him and his one friend), I left the corporation with the same general tone of the poster. I had done what I could, and had to unfortunately part ways.
The problem arises when the CEO fails to listen to the voices of the players. He/She gets too involved in leading, and less actual playing, which really bites at the players and ruins the whole corporation.

Strangely, after scanning throught it, I was left with this bizarre notion that Cattegirn & Ti'jitsu are the same person, and in control of both corps (rampant SR & nemesis nation), and a complete nutter.

In my Oppinion Cattegrin was in the right, its not about his ego - its about keeping clarity on comms, and keeping things in check. Its no good letting a little emo f>ag whine in corp chat and comms left right and center because he lost a ship on an op once.. its not productive to the rest of the people actually still alive, and nothing can be done aobut it so why moan?
Cattegrin kept his cool pretty much all the way through those logs which Is what a leader should do, his corp members need to know that he's incharge -even more so in this case considering he appears to be one of the only FCs in the corp. If you dont take his advice and grow some you will end up getting scammed/griefed left right and center in eve, as this is the true nature of the game.

agreed, as a leader figure in the corp you should never ever whine in sight of the lower ranks, that is kept for the guys above you only, but imo Cattegirn went about it totally wrong. First he "promotes" the guy then tells him he is going to get demoted again if he doesnt change, why promote him in the first place if you don't have any confidence in the guy?? Bad call.

A leader needs to ascert himself and gain the respect of his/her inferiors. That can be done in many ways and his approach isn't working. My guess is he would fit in well in an all out pvp experienced corp, but not among a group of new players that haven't got the slightest idea how to fit a ship for pvp let alone the skills. Giving out guidelines for what you can do is awesome, threatning people with bans and kick and calling them morons that are playing the wrong game isn't the way forward though, and the CEO threatning with leaving the corp altogether because his "minions" aren't following his commands the way HE wants them too displays a poor lack of communication and leadership in general.
Ex. You just started working at the local newspaper as a cleaner. You get a jobdescription handed to you and you read it through then go looking for your tools. On the way to the tools the head honcho finds you and starts yelling at you because you havent cleaned his office yet, when you try to explain the situation to him (you just started there and haven't even found the broom closet yet) he goes on a hizzy fit and yells out "SCREW THIS IM QUITTING. YOU GUYS ARE ALL MORONS!".
Ever seen that happen in rl? Well ok it does happen....

**Hmm I just saw the document. While this is based around a real conversation there have been edits made and things added that I didn't say. I guess that's pretty standard for Eve soaps.
As for OP, they offered a "rare opportunity" and told me I was a selfish jerk if I declined, because I wasn't thinking of our members first. They wanted us to disband, have all our members join their corp, and move into their nullsec space.
Because THAT's what's best for noobs.
