I'm wondering if my alt will gain any standings if I am ganged with him while doing missions? Or is there another way to do it? And does he have to be at the mission location?

Edited by: Contralto on 12/02/2010 09:11:20 If your in gang and you turn the mission in for the gang, your alt will receive corp standings and rewards.
This doesn't apply to storyline missions and faction standings.
Your alt can be anywhere in the universe to receive the share.

You only tend to share standings from missions when in the same region, so the other side of the universe won't be of much use. But you can quite easily just have them sit in station within a few jumps and they will gain half the standings from missions, other than the faction gain you get from storylines, as mentioned above.

Not true. Shared standings gains will apply regardless of where the character is located. The character does not need to be in the same region. As for usefulness, I have found it to be very useful to share standings with characters in different regions, but you might not find any such use.
Note: if the character is not in the same system as the agent, the standings gains will not appear in your Character Sheet until you log off. If you check the standings transaction log you can see the increases have been recorded, or if check the standings from a character in the same system as the agent you will be able to see the new base standings immeadiately.

This must have changed as standing gains weren't shared with fleet mates if they moved over the border into a different region when I was running missions with corp mates early last summer. It might have been the fact that the standing gains don't show up til you relog that made my corp mate make that claim. I was only a month or two old at the time and didn't have a clue either way so he could have been mistaken, I've never put it to the test since then.

Most likely this is the case. I have been using shared standings gain since they were first introduced, and have never had a problem with the characters location, other than the oddity regarding caching.
