I would suggest next time sending out "sorry you were not selected" emails as well as the "you rock, speak to you soon" ones.
Yes I know that is more work, just saying

I had a cut and paste "Dear X we have received your application" type email back.

It would probably indicate the email wasn't received for some reason. Better luck next time.
Of course I am assuming everybody got a confirmation that their application was received and you know what assuming does...

Any idea when we will get to see the rules?
on the blog it said "There will be a full dev blog on the tournament itself in a few weeks which will cover the rules and sign up details.". When is that?
