Edited by: Prolak Grey on 30/11/2004 21:15:33 In a press release earlier today, Bullet-Proof Packaging, Incorporated's President and Chief Executive Officer, Prolak Grey indicated that BPPI is considering legal action against Concorde for 'Actions unconceinable in a civilized realm"
The action was triggered by Concord's unprovoked attack and destruction of the Star of BPPI, a Hoarder class Industrial ship, in the Arluff system earlier today. Also destroyed was Agamemnon II, a Rupture class Cruiser.
The Star was not armed.
Concord acted completely without merit, with complete disregard to safety, or legal considerations. No warnings were given and no attempt was made to mitigate the situation peacably. "If this is how Concord is going to act, we may as well join the pirates" Prolak was quoted as saying.
The action is suing for replacement of the ship, and it's 5000+m3 of assorted goods that were onboard at the time of the unprovoked attack, plus 50M isk punitive damages.
No representative of Concorde was willing to comment.
"As I am sure there are other law-abiding corporations in the same predicament, I urge anyone else that has been targetted by these new pirates to get in contact with me so we can consider a class-action suit."
Also mentioned in the suit is CCP, for the markets being down during this incident, so that no recovery operation could be mounted, as no ships were able to be purchased.

I can only assume that your hauler was destroyed because it was hauling highly dangerous material or high-grade narcotics.
I think the loss of a mere ship is insufficient to punish those who flaunt the regulations of the Empire Governments and willingly put the population of said factions in grave danger. I would support concord-mandated summary clone termination for such acts. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

Edited by: Prolak Grey on 30/11/2004 21:12:55 In a suprise move today, CCP and Concord replaced both the Hoarder class Industrial, Star of BPPI, and Rupture Class Cruiser, Agamemnon II. Along with the 2 ships, all equipment and most of the cargo was replaced. An unknown Concord Spokesman, had this to say: " Due to extreme lag conditions and a recently discovered 'bug' in the contraband detectors, we felt that this was the right thing to do. "
BPPI Chairman and CEO, Prolak Grey was pleasantly surprised by the move and wishes to thank CCP and Concord staff.
"It took a week, but our petition was answered, and answered to our satisfaction. We regret losing some of the cargo from the Industrial, but we can live with that loss". Headquarters: Nein, Republic Parliament Bureau |

Excellent show. It makes me proud when people follow this kind of in-character action rather than ***** about how their ship was lost to a bug and their petition hasn't been answered. Good work, guys. I like the in-character touch.

The only problem if he was truly into the RP aspect is that CCP do not exist in the Eve world therefore he can't mention them.
Otherwise a nice post instead of the usual "my ship got ganked by Concord" whine.

But I HAD to mention CCP, existing in game or not, as the message was actually thanking CCP for returning my ships.
Concord is fictitous and had nothing to do with it. I wrote it this way, simply alluding that Concord works for CCP. It is YOUR assumption that CCP does not exist in game. Think of CCP as the ever allusive 'them'. Headquarters: Nein, Republic Parliament Bureau |

We must track down Prolak's pod, hook up to the interface and remove all mention of CCP from his memory. He must not spread the truth!
(In a more serious note, I'm glad to hear that the situation was resolved to your satisfaction and to see it posted in a RP fashion. I do have to admit, I had a bit of worry when I saw "lawsuit" and "CCP" mentioned in the same sentence. )

I am lead to wonder why you worried. After all you must have something to hide if you are worried about it.

<knock at pod door>
Prolack opens door slowly. Two men in black suits are stood there wearing standard concord issue shades (cheap ones from your local quik-e-mart) and the suits dont quite fit them.
"Prolack Grey?"
"Yes!?"
"This is Agent Kieron and Wrangler of Concord!"
<flash of light>
"Have a Nice Life!"
"Where am I? Who am I??" <prolack collapses into pod goo once more>

OOC: I think this was a great post, sometimes we all forget that this is "just a game". Would be nice if we could get more RP into our posts here. Would have been nice to see a bunch of players get together and file a "class-action lawsuit" petition against Concorde instead the repeated "WTF I go PWED by Concorde for just doing what my agent asked me to" threads.
