You can fly through planets, ships and stations, but today i encountered something different...
Mining, I got stuck in between a set of rocks, and I couldn't get out to save my life.
My ship budged and danced and swiveled from side to side, over and over. No go, I was stuck.
So I'm thinking, how the hell do I get out?
Light bulb moment:
Mine my way out. I had to shoot the damn rocks until they disappeared.
Weird.

Log off. Few problems it can't fix.
And if all else fails...don't get so close next time.

NO, actually you cant always do that - once your ship has started bouncing its considered allready in warp so you get "you cant do that while warping" return message when you ctrl+space

File a 'stuck' petition, theres a specific category fot it called 'stuck'. They're usually answered promptly. It happenerd to me once in a mission. Kill the guy with the dirty pictures, I forget its actual name. A GM moved me to a station in the system I was in. This is my sig, stop reading. |

To explain it in terms of "in game"
When you warp you are in a bubble or "out of phase" with the normal universe. This mean matter can not effect you, hence you can't fire guns when at warp. When you are flying with your engines you are in normal space or "in phase" This mean you can fire guns, but you hit things.
I hope that explains things.

Did you actually try it? I've done that several times, including yesterday when a great big asteroid had spawned on a gate. I agree most times it won't work but then it's not in full warp, which it can't be if it's bouncing. You can right click and cancel it then just move away and try again. If you were in full warp then it must have been a bug. You can petition this and they usually get you out fast, or try re logging.
The Ops situation seems different as he was stuck between two rocks.

Warp to belt, bookmark type of roid you want to mine, warp to another belt, bookmark roid, warp to 0 to first bookmark.
Hit roid scanner, make sure you have enough within range to ensure a ship or jetcan load.
You've got to be careful moving in belts with normal propulsion as that might get you into a tight spot as you've described.
I've also found re-using bookmarks in systems I do a lot of mining works fine. You'd think the belts change position as the days go by but they seem not to.

yepp, happened lots of time when "bouncing" over an acceleration gate - sometimes you can stop, other times you get the "you cant do that while in warp" message and cant do **** other than quitting the game.

I've had similar incidents here and there..sometime spamming the stop ship button works for me. The find the optimum angle to slowly fly out of the jam. Might help.

Actually, AFAIK, the reason you can move so fast is because depleted vacuum creates negative frictional resistance. Out of phase is probably not the correct therm for it (the wormholes of stargates would probably be more like that), since you are actually moving in a space that is truly "nothing". Normal space is empty from matter, but there exists a lot of "noise", such as radio waves, photons (light), etc... :) --------------------------

I kinda like having fly thru planets and moons. Not to be giving up any secrets, but the hollow central axis of the graphic makes for an excellent safe spot. Hostiles will usually assume that you warped to the Celestial and do a warp to 0 chasing you, when you really warped inside the Celestial via bookmark.
Such bookmarks can be made in a few hours or less using interceptors or fast frigates fitted with perma-MWD's.
