Hey this is my first post. Ive only been playing for about a month, ive come from WOW. (alt character btw) I got to say this game frickin rocks. I have two accounts. The first, this character a trader and the other a miner/manufacturer.
My question is about standings to get a POS in hisec. If I created a corp and invited someone with high standings does mine and the other guys average out after the 7 days? For example I have .5 and the other guy has 10 does that average to 5.5 or something like that. I have also looked into buying a corp with high standings but after 7 days doesnt it drop back to my level? I know that i can have someone setup a corp and have him place the POS and as long as I dont unanchor it I will be ok. How safe is that? He can come and wardec me or tell someone where my POS is and have them wardec me.
Second question: I have looked into having someone research my BPO's is there an escrow service out there? Where the researcher would put x amount of money into the escrow and i give him the BPO's that way there is some sort of security, and when the transaction is complete the researcher gets his money back minus the service charges. (Is that even a viable business?)
Any feedback would be appreciated

Welcome to Eve!
If you have 2 players in corp, your faction standing will be the average of the 2 players. It adjusts daily and will take roughly a week to even out.
Buying a corp from a respected seller is usually very safe. There are some that post in the Sell Orders section of the forum, and most have customers post with their feedback. If you are putting a POS in high sec, having it attacked is usually a very remote concern. You cannot use capitol ships in high sec, so a battleship would be the largest attacker. A well defended POS in high sec is not a fun target, thus not a major concern.
Having others research your blueprints, I'm not too sure on this one. I've always done it myself.

Wrong. Once a player has been in the corp 7 seven days, their standings are included fully in the corp standings, and not at all until then. There is no gradual adjustment anymore.

A viable way to do this would have the researcher pay a deposit for the NPC cost of the BPO (or possibly an increased deposit if the BP is already researched). In other words:
1) You contract the BP to the researcher for the deposit cost. 2) They research the BP. 3) They contract the BP back to you for the cost of the research plus a refund of the deposit.

Depends, if you are completely neutral, then no, the standings will stay the same until you arent neutral, or someone joins the corp that isnt.

Just to clarify: neutral means NO standings, NOT zero standing. You are only neutral if the faction is not on your liked by or disliked by standing lists. If they are on either with a standing of 0.00 then you're not neutral (EVE rounds all figures when they're displayed, so that 0.00 could be between 0.001 and 0.0049).

Just note that Corp standings take the members unmodified faction standings when calculating. When you look at your faction standings in your character screen, look for the number in parentheses. This is the standing without modification from social skills. I found that out the hard way, thought I had enough to anchor in a .6 sec system, when my actual corp standings only went up to 5.77
