Hello all, and thank you in advance for helping me.
As it is currently, I am at a bifurcation point between Gallente and Amarr. I have recently joined a mostly industrial corp looking to expand their PVP capabilities in order to defend their space. As such I have offered to pursue cap ships. I have most of the support skills trained (just need to train for weapons and shield/armor mods), and am trying to decide which direction to go. As noted in the title of the post, I'm looking into either a dreadnought or carrier. Between Gallente and Amarr, what are the pros and cons of the Moros and Revelation, and between the Thanatos and Archon, and what would be your recommendation to train for. From what I've gathered, the Thanatos really isn't that great of a carrier.
As a side note, my neural remap will be available in 2 weeks and am planning on focusing towards perception and willpower.
Thank you to all.

I'm not an expert on this, but as I understand it dreads are useless for hitting anything other than capitals and structures, and carriers are for capital logistics + sub-capital removal.
I think a single carrier is more generically useful on its own than a single dread, but a dread can't be beat for its role when supported by a fleet.
Gallente carriers have a larger drone bay and a drone damage bonus, where the Caldari and Amarr have a resist bonus, and the Minmatar a rep bonus.
For dreads, the Amarr Revelation is tough to beat.

Archon for sure. In your case, carriers before dreads. Dreads do their job well but its a very limited role. Archon tanks like a beast, gives sexy armor reps, will dish out some good damage, and provides the logistical benefits just like the other carriers. _____________________________________________

go for any triage carrier, with good mods, boosters and implants you can probably tank 20 or so BS while repping your fleet mates and turning the tide of battle, Dreads are just big BSs.

Dreads are not "Just big battleships" they act nothing like battlships and arn't the backbone of the fleet; dreads are for sieges. Carriers would be the better option for what sounds like a small lower skill level group as it can support the rest of the fleet. The Gallente carrier is a good choice if you need to be in more of a logistics role or need to repair POS being it is able to use both the armor and shield remote repairs but it is not as good in this role as a minmatar carrier. The Amarr carrier is very good in the front lines with the armor resistance bonus so if you plan on being in more of a combat role on the front with RR armor fleets then go for the Amarr one.

I suggest go for carriers first as they are more widely used. If you get in a dreadnought it would be for tower shootings or 60-sec ganks only. However you can use your carrier for pretty much everything. Its like big logistic with a nice dps.
Thanatos is the dps/action carrier... archon is more of a logistical carrier. Thanatos used to be the best carrier, however I can say that archon is the real deal now with energy transfer bonus, number of spider carrier fleets are increasing more and more

thanatos is the more versatile carrier
for dreadnoughts its pretty irrelevant, they all get the job done well enough unless you are rolling with snipe dread fleets in whih case just avoid phoenix

I second the suggestion above me: go for a Thanatos.
While the Archon is a superior fleet carrier (way better tank>>200 or so extra damage for a carrier), the main advantage of thanatos is that it can also rep shields, which proves a real asset when repping POSes.

Seen all races carriers poping in less than 20 seconds on the edge of the POS shield
I choose Niddy cause it is fastest and have bonsuses to both RR.
Believe me you wont be using this carrier for solo fight, so who cares about local tank.

yea don't go for the dread. since you're an indy corp if that dread gets tackled by 10bs you won't be able to free it.
that said if you're in an indy corp you're gonna probably lose that carrier if you take it into combat.
basically both suck without support.

Gallente carrier would also shorten the way to the more versatile Dread. The Moros is imo better suited in small fleet business because it's the only Dread witch is effective against all kinds of targets. Even after it's nerf.
You can pull down a POS, fight enemy capital ships and enemy sub-capitals...even a horde of Tarani(s?)! All in one ship.

You get what, 600 dps from Gardes in Moros, compared to 300 in other dreads, bit more from ogres. So double compared to other dreads, but hardly stellar performance. It's not like lights are going to instapop Taranises.
