the points you get on killboards are set by the killboard itself, not by killmails. ------ I'm just a lonely pirate on my way to ascension |

also, disregarding the points raised by the two people above me, you'd need to make a killmail have some way to diffentiate between "solo PvP" and for instance, Undock gankin/docking games.
at present I don't think the killmails have that abillity

change killboard to give you way more points if there is 1 pilot on the killmail

playing undocking games solo is dangerous - ever have 3+ battlecruiser undock on you and a falcon decloak 60km off while you were attempting this? great majority of pvp groups have no problems fielding this setup while you are attempting to camp them in solo

Most killboards already do this -- I believe that's why I am ranked so high on battleclinic. Points per kill / number of people on killmail.

I have to say I like the BC method much more than the alternate killboards. Its not only your kill that is worked out like that, its losses as well. I like the idea of penalising blobs :)

The points system on Battleclinic already does that. You get a heap of killboard points for soloing a higher ship class or a decent amount for taking down something of the same class. You only one or two for killing something in a fleet. It's not perfect but I think it's a better way of sorting out players in comparison to killboard efficiency.

Simple way to boost pvp: make people stop caring so much about their killboard stats, more people will be willing to engage at even odds.

make killmails register if you received any remote rep and put repper on your gang then subtract points for it, this should have done ages ago

A lot of corps aren't out for points, they're out for a massive list of kills and a tiny list of losses. The best way to do this is superior numbers.

Doesnt take fittings into account though. I once soloed a 3 week old Rokh pilot in my Claw, got crazy points for it. But my biggest achievement in that fight was just that I had enough ammo in my cargo.

Well Battleclinic offers a very good killboard for solo players. When you gank a BC with 3 Carriers each pilot gets 0.4 points where when you kill an ibis solo you get 1.25 points (+1.25 for pod ).
Just look at battleclinic stats...non-gankers and solo pvp players benefit from this system. ------ Make Lowsec useful! Vote in the CSM-Forum! |

I've always found the concept of killing simply for the killmail to be a little... odd. Given that this character is a cynoalt, my Imicus gets popped quite often. As long as the cyno generator survives and I retrieve it with my main, the enemy receives no loot from the kill - for that matter, same if it gets destroyed. The character who killed him has lost sec status (if he wasn't -10 already), gotten sentry aggro and used some ammo for a killmail on a virtually unfit, defenceless ship. Such a killmail wouldn't really pad your efficiency stats. I mean, more power to them if they do it, it's not a big deal. Cynogens aren't expensive and neither are Imicuses, but I don't really understand the appeal.
Although there was that guy in the Dramiel who failed rather epically at killing my cynoboat and lost his drones in the process. That was funny. -----

I dont think its as simple as that. How will merc corps ever prove their worth the ISK their asking for. How will PvP corps/alliances recruit solid members to their ranks. How will we know when someone asks a question on forums about something if they know what there talking about and to that effect how will we know who is giving the advice back know what their talking about. Honor? lol, yea right. Killmails are needed to prove yourself in a universe of snakes, liars, cheaters and scammers. One thing I absolutely cannot stand is KM whor-ing, taking pop shots at ppl then putting your dps back on the primary. If everyone starts to take up that trend then that could mean bad news for your side since there is no 'focus firing' going on.

Cool idea. This makes sense both from a gameplay and logical perspective (the less people shooting at something the less stuff will be destroyed).

Should be a nice little boost for smaller engagements.

Sounds like a good idea actually, as long as it doesn't go overboard. With 1 attacker 60-65% and down to 25-30% for 10+ attackers.

Finally a reasonable tangible benefit for solo/smaller gangs. How about posting the suggestion in the features and ideas section and linking it here. And let's support it by voting for it in that section.
