Quick question...
I have been looking, (and maybe I missed it) but it looks like the next step beyond Industrials, is Freighters. Both in cargo capacity and cost (and skills).
But also looking at these options, it looks like the Freighters is a substantial leap in capacity amount, and ship cost.
Maybe I haven't found it.. but is there a ship class somewhere between?

one coudl argue the Orca is an in between ship based on it's size and capacity, but it doesn't follow along the same skill path as a freighter/indy ship. The T2 indy ships are specialized versions of their T1 buddies and are not really a go between.

I believe transport ships are right between industrials and freighters.

As Amarrbone said, the Transport ships do not by any stretch surpass the T1 industrials. They may approximate them in one or two cases, but they are definitely not "between" industrials and freighters, they are industrials.
I would say the closest thing is the Orcas, which cost a bit more than half a freighter, and can hold around twice what an industrial ship can hold, not counting the ship hangar (which is 400k m3, which is a bit less than half what a carrier can hold)
That said, it bears mentioning that the Orca requires a mining barge skillset, not an industrial ship skillset.
