Hey everyone,
I have been running L1 missions for a while now. I fly Minmatar ships and I've been able to save up and fit a Rupture with T1 mods. The only decent L2 missions I've been able to find, though, have been in low sec and I'm not sure I'm ready to venture out there yet. I'm kind of lost on what to do next...should I suck it up and move out there? Should I take a lower Q mission in high sec?
Thanks, everyone, for you help!

You can use this site to look for agents. Training connections will give you access to a much wider selection of agents.
You should expect a significant increase in diffuculty when moving from level 1 to level 2 missions. Be prepared to lose ships until you get used to the new level of diffuculty. Try using a guide such as this one so that you know what to expect heading into a mission.

There's tons of agents in high sec. You just weren't looking in the right place. You should be fairly good with lv2 missions in a rupture. They're not as hard compared to lv1's as the guy above said. The jump from lv2 to lv3 is the big gap.

That depends entirely on how prepared you are for the jump.
For myself, level 1 to level 2 was the hardest, level 2 to level 3 was easier, level 3 to level 4 was the easiest. It all depends on how prepared you are for the change.
If you are over-prepared, then you won't notice a difference at all. If you are under-prepared then you will lose several ships.

Prepared in terms of what, exactly?

Most important is tactics. After that, ships fitting and support skills.

Edited by: Mara Abraham on 16/02/2010 19:35:18 Good day, Drakk:
Level 2 and level 1 changes are minor for the most part. If you have Minmatar Frigate up to level 4, and at least standard certificates for gunnery (turret control, frigate), you could do a lot of level 2's in your Rifter.
Upgrade to a Trasher (go for level 2 in the destroyer line); and the same skill sets that made you a good Rifter pilot go with you, and every level 2 mission should be easy (so easy that at times, you want to go back to the Rifter to make it harder).
If you have Minmatar Cruiser 3 or 4 (I've found going above the minimum for the ship helps a lot), and then get the support skills up, the Rupture should do you fine for all level 2 combat missions.
As stated, the jump comes into play between level 2's and 3's; and an even bigger jump between 3's and 4's.
Also, while not needed until you get to level 3 missions, bookmark http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports as this site contains key information for being able to live through level 3 and level 4 missions.
If you are in the Heimatar region (high sec), especially near the Pator area, our small corp typically has people on that can help if you run into trouble. I'm far from an expert (I just started level 4 missions), but feel free to convoy me if you see me online with questions.
=====> Tactics.... while almost not present in L1 missions, the need for starting to learn aggro management et al starts coming into play with L2, becomes more important in L3 missions, and is ultra critical in L4 missions. Eve Survival can help in that area as well as being aware of your surroundings et al.
Thank you.
P.S. Our corp has done level 4 missions with a small fleet (I think there were 5 or 6 of us) in just frigates (several where in t2 frigates, several - including me - were in plain Rifter's). Speed tanking, ftw.
