You can transfer a TCU from corp to corp within an alliance, just as you can a station, with no sov drop.
How?
Lilian stated that "offline it unanchor, scope and relaunch for new corp" and "and yes it insta nukes the sov" i suspect this is incorrect as it would cause a sov drop would it not?
You are assuming i am talking about the attempt to switch sov to a new alliance, i am not, i understand what happened here, AM dropped sov and were unable to start a new TCU onlining (with the new alliance) due to a bug to do with DT maint not taking place, however if what Lilian says is correct then why could AM not just instantly reclaim sov with the original alliance.
The answer I suspect is Lilian is incorrect and either offlining TCU does not drop sov once ihub is up or the process for switching corp ownership within alliance is wrong i just seem to be getting conflicting statements about it, likely thinking i am asking about switching sov between alliances.

If you rightclick on a TCU there is an option to change ownership to another corp in your alliance. This changes who pays the bill and who can anchor a HUB, nothing else.
You CANNOT transfer TCU owenership to a corp in another alliance. You can only offline your tcu, lose sov and then have new alliance online theirs. If you offline a TCU you lose sov. There is no 2 ways about it. Thats what a TCU does, it claims sov.
Oh, and you can't leave an alliance with the corp that owns the TCU, that will drop sov too.

Thanks, seems I was correct about Lilian being wrong about how TCU ownership was transfered within alliance. All makes sense now :)

I think Lilan is saying you need to offline the tcu, unanchor the TCU and re-anchor it, then online it. Just offline then online will not work. You (AM) didn't unanchor it which is why it failed to claim sov.

CCP kind of explains this when they say "xxx corporation must put TCU at blabla"
If you try to online someone elses TCU, it wont grab sov for u. 
Sorta like a ship in space, if you take it, it becomes "yours" on paper. But until then, it belongs to the last user.

Its written there in that guide.
It shouldn't require TOO much brainpower to understand that you cannot claim sov with someone elses TCU? It might have been theirs bought and paid for, but upon reforming the TCU still remained the old corporations property because it was anchored by them.

Seriously tho, anyone else starting to think of this whole mess in 3D and Z-R as a bad joke by the devs. I mean, yes, we initiated it, but come on CCP, just let someone have the system for more than 40 minutes (peferably AM, lol).

Seriously.... I heard the one in 3D is now working properly? How much ISK did you get ripped for..like 85M per cycle, per system? I hope all the worst of the kinks are ironed out now. It has been frustrating for a lot of us. I wished I had not been stuck at work so much this week. Theres a mountain of BS left to shovel through before getting to the entire truth of this week.
I do know this... The fights I did get in on were just fraggin brutal. The IHUB fight was quite a spectacle, expensive, but wow. =P I just moved out here recently and this is way more exciting than losec! My blood has never burned this much in a long time. UK got an opportunity no one could refuse and the inevitable ensued. My 3rd day here I was in the the middle of the DG incident. Seeing what could have been brought I would say the reds exercised a measure of restraint and gave us a fight unlike any other. Quite a deployment for one hell of a week. I am grateful for the pilots that brushed aside chaos, bugs, and BS to fight fiercely.

As far as CCP... I expected they would "play the ball where it lies". It is typical for them when dealing with bugs specifically. "Sorry about the luck, but now it should work right." No matter what they do someone will not be happy thats just reality. The dev that came to ZR was there to address a technical problem not to make a rules call. Thats not his job. Being a tech myself I understand. I could care less about the who, what, where, when, why, or how unless its required to fix whatever POS I am tasked to fix. Then it is on to the next fix. Rules lawyering is someone elses job. Que sera sera..
As for the traitors and cowards... Theres nothing left to say...

confirming that we paid jason to drop all sov and join us 
the reason why sov kept dropping in 3d + z-r was because we put him in charge of sov instantly, not CCP's fault...
then karn realised that jason failed at looking after sov in general and took roles away
