Edited by: KnoblauchenWellen on 17/02/2010 21:55:30 I've been reading some posts around, and again someone was complaining that Hi-Sec should be a safe space. Of course that one was shortly torn into bits by others, but someone mentioned that the only safe place in EVE is inside the station.
Then I remembered that walking in station project (Incarna project right?), that has been going on as long as Duke Nukem Forever has been. So if that applies, you can get out of ships in the station. What if you had the option to sabotage other people's ships within the station? Just like you go suicide-gank these days, maybe you can go blow up someone else's ship and INSIDE the station. That would be sure a lot of fun . |

He didn't say he wanted to kill anybody. He wants to blow up unoccupied ships in people's hangars.

Presumably people would lock up their hangar before they take a stroll out in the station. That would make sense to me from an "RP" angle.

Signed for the suggestion.
If we can't actually blow them up, at least let us spray paint obscene words/images onto the hulls of their ships.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

it's still a crummy idea; you'd wind up with all your ships popped while you're logged off

Great idea. I also think that this explosive device should require at least a years worth of training and it permanently kills the character that uses it! Give a real meaning to suicide gankers!

Actyally any sane person would fit their hanger doors with nesessary deadly traps to kill any unwanted saboteurs. I know i would, few civilian gatling lasers would do the trick nicely.

I think we should have booby traps that can capture these wannabe saboteurs so that the player can hold them for ransom. Kind of like pirates scrambling a pod. And if they don't pay up we can just leave them trapped in these cages until the end of Eve.

don't forget tracking, though; players will probably have very small sig radii, unless they overindulge in the pies. _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

But the move soo slowly
More seriously failure rate of forced entry should be so hight to make attempting it meaningless or it would ruin the game.
The only possible exception would be for station owners and it still would create much more problems than increase fun in the game.
You really would like to log a day and find that you have lost everything because some guy was bored and decided to destroy the content of all hangars in station before quitting the game?
Trust is already very thin in this game, allowing attacks or theft against your hangar content would remove it totally.
Joining a corp where CEO and directors can see what I have in hangar? Docking in a player owned station where the owner can see what you have in hangar?

Mining lasers.
Log in, find freshly mined biomass in your hanger. \o/
I really doubt Incarna will allow access to other people's hangars. I believe it's already been said there won't be in-station fighting. Think of all the whining CCP would have to deal with. "CCP, AI GOTZ VIOLENCECD IN MAI HONGAR! FIX NAO!"

Strapping a warp drive to your back sounds like a perfect way to become a Darwin Award candidate to me.

Only if all your future clones can't reproduce.
Also, outside of your pod, getting a brainscan at the exact moment of death could be difficult, so cloning accidents are possible.

this brings up a number of terrifying thoughts in regards to cloning that i'd rather not consider. I mean, what if an accident during growth means one of your jump clones is a eunuch? WHAT HAS (fictional) SCIENCE WROUGHT?!

we'll build a pod-helmet, keeps your head suspended in goo with little floaty camera drones to let you see the station interiors
it'll look awesome _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

Chances are most of the messages you would find on your ships would be from that git Scotty 'Ha ha, now you have to wait another 30 seconds before I let you jump back into this'
