There is some good stuff in the previous posts, most of which would usually skew my opinion of things. If however you are interested in a little extra work, on the same agreement of Hisec warfare, for the cost of the dec please make contact with me.
I have a target in mind, and it may just improve your rep.

Edited by: Gladys Pank on 24/02/2010 13:34:08 I like how the story changes with every post. The OP Corp continues to look more and more pathetic. ~

Originally by: Andrea Griffin Reasonable complaints. TL;DR: Disappointing performance. Do Not Hire.
I am part of the "Second" corporation in your post and while I will not offer an apology for Copas' or our performance on this contract; however, I would like to give you an idea of our part in this.
We did not know of the United States Army's intention of joining an alliance until after we sanctioned the action. They joined the alliance about an hour after it sanctioned.
There was some confusion in our corporation if this would actually allow us to fight once the war went live. We did not wish to wardec the alliance until we verified that we were not going to be able to actually fight the US Army guys.
Well, we ran locators, stalked, tried to find their 0.0 region, got bad intel, found good intel, hunted them down and dammit, no, we weren't allowed to engage. Our CEO had the votes ready to dec the alliance and hit the go button. We still had to wait until Monday before we could actually fight. We knew about the initial wardec fee was to be provided by you; however, it is not your fault that they joined an alliance and invalidated our war against the corp. In my mind set - the alliance war dec money is not your responsibility. It's just good customer service imo that we take that on ourselves.
I was eventually able to get good intel; however, the Copas guys lost interest and weren't able to come join us. I found a bunch of USA guys and was trying to find targets of opportunity myself, but I was ill equipped to catch the t1 frigs they were all flying around in and I was hoping for bigger fish anyway. By the time I got my household/family duties finished and could devote more time and energy to catching them, they were gone and nowhere to be found.
I was relaying this intel to Copas to see if I could get a fleet going, but no one came. They all went back to their home regions and were doing their own things.
There is a definite lack of communication between us and Copas. We allowed them to use our TS3 server, gave them the information and said feel free to use this whenever you want... but no one would join our TS. We don't use chat when running ops, we use voice coms. They kept telling us that they didn't have TS3.
Individually, the members of Copas are good pilots. Their direction, leadership and focus need a lot of work and I believe that they should have taken more time to establish these before accepting jobs that could potentially affect our standings and reputation within the community.
This is pretty embarrassing for us. Chances are good that we will decide not to form an alliance with Copas at this time. My corporation has 5 semi active members. We are all very close friends and work extremely well together as a unit, but our game time is not reliable enough to assume a leadership role in an alliance - which is why we are currently looking for decent corporations who are willing and have strong leadership and direction to keep us engaged in the game.
For the duration of the current wardec, Deep Penetration will continue to work on getting engagements with the Sylph alliance. I can't make any promises on what the results will be, but we will continue to try on our own. If this proves to be fun for us, we will extend this war on our own. ------------------ Go Deep! |

Originally by: DmD666 We were not paid to do any of this crap you guys are talking about.
We were paid 4 million isk and given a random target picked from local to shoot for fun. By the time we got our intel, most were out of empire. The only people left were scattered around and hard to find.
We weren't paid a few hundred mil to go to 0.0 and risk ships to blobs to mount ops against this corp or alliance. We were paid four.
Dm, dont expect to get a fair shakedown in C&P. Comments like "they keep changing their story" and "lolfail" are part of the standard repertoire here.
Take a few more contracts, keep them small and get your KB straightened out. Drop your friendship with DP as they seemed to have just thrown you under the bus.
Once you have several satisfied customers, come back to C&P and try again. Stay honest as you seem to have done and address the concerns with communication.
Have fun !

You decced us, while we were already at war with a corp 4 times our size, and now hide in station.
Still waiting for you to undock.
If you can't handle a corp your own size, which is already occupied killing other people, how to you plan on charging for services? ________

The sheer level of failure you are on is astonishing. You should write a book "how not to behave as a fledgling mercenary corp: COPAS experience with hiding in stations."

After a quick chat with the CEO of COPAS who seemed completely unaware of any war decs or mercenary activities going on, i wonder what is actually going on.
Also after i ordered a war dec which didnt happen for some confusion we had about the target corporation, i havent been able to get my iskies back even we already agreed to call it off a week ago.
I'm not pointing fingers at anyone yet, but i sure would like to know whats going on here. |
