today I did the L5 storyline mission "a mote in the eye"
I have done this mission before, and found it to be bugged. after shooting the power generator, the mission still shows as not complete in the journal. Last time I petitioned it, and got it completed by a GM without any problem. the comments on eve survival show that I'm not the only one with this problem
however this time the GM replied he won't complete the mission, since it was fixed recently. He gave me the advice to activate all items in the overview to see the powergenerator. he also went on that there are more than one powergenerator to destroy (even though it says in the mission description "Destroy the Power Generator", which sound for me like one power generator). anyway, even when I activate "select all" in the overview settings, I see no additional power generators. or any other structures I could blow up for the matter.
So clearly this mission was bugged as ever.
I suggested that if he won't complete the mission, he could at least reset the mission. By that i could decline it to not ruin my standing with a failed mission (this mission gives 10% faction standing gain!). he said he won't be able to do that, since the mission is supposed to be fixed. I shall fill out a bug report instead. By this it would be possible to complete the mission in future LOL
I have no idea if this guy just lied to me, or their mission designers at CCP are the epitome of incompetence. I lost a lot of ships due disconnects and own stupidity. Up to now I never complained much or spamed CCP with petitions. In fact this is my second petition in over 3 years of EVE. But to see a faction standing of over 9 going by half because of a dishonest GM and/or incompetent developers is ruining the fun for me. today at least.
ok, the bug report is filed. Although I don't expect much of it, since it is already fixed LOL
btw i won't quit, so no stuff to share. Just wanted to thank CCP for their hones and competent GM support
customer satisfaction is a nice thing

second GM has turned in the mission. case closed for me.
Although I'll stay clear of this mission in the future, which is a sad thing, since it's the most frequent level 5 storyline mission.
