..Hey folks, so I have my big ole Obelisk and I make about 60 jumps a week with it. Never auto pilot. What I'd like to know is what skills will make my freighter get into warp faster, travel in warp faster, and all around make me faster. Also any other skills that you freighter pilots find useful. Thanks all!

Evasive Maneuvering (Navigation) Navigation (Navigation) SpaceShip Command (Spaceship Command) Advanced SpaceShip Command (Spaceship Command) Gallente Freighter (Spaceship Command)
Beyond that, I have no idea, pretty self explanatory though, "Navigation" skils and the ships skills Depending on the Pilots role, maybe having "Trade" skills for actual trading?
On the odd chance you get attacked... Maybe even Armor Compensation skills? (Mechanic) aswell as Shield Compensation skills? (Engineering)

Advanced Spaceship Command Evasive Manuevering Are important
Depening on the value of what you haul you might want to get these (get them to IV no matter what) Mechanic Hull Upgrades Shield Management

Shield or armour compensation skills wont help. Shield Management, Hull Upgrades and the Mechanic skills will all give you more buffer though, which never hurts.

Though I'm well aware you're asking for skills, if you haven't already, you may want to look into implants as well. There are those that improve ship agility as well ones that improve warp speed. Just a thought.

Again I know you asked about skills, but I assume you know about the web trick? Gets you into warp way faster, but you do need another account / friend! |

Yes and no, navigation will increase the speed needed to initiate warp, but you will still get into warp at the same amount of time from a standstill, there may or may not be an effect when trying to warp from a undock, too tired to think about that.

Come to a halt when you undock, before you go to warp. It is faster.
Spam stop during the bar and you will stop ASAP. At a busy station like Jita, turn on all brackets, and warp to the moon that is right in front of you. Come to a stop, then warp away.
It takes a LONG time to align when you are going 100x normal speed, but it takes relatively little time to come to a stop from that speed. It takes 0 time to align when you are completely stopped. Ignore the graphics.

..Thanks all for the suggestions, I trained up Evasive Maneuvering and Advanced Spaceship Command a bit, and bought a +3% agility implant for 5m isk. I have noticed a difference in the ammount of time it takes to get into warp. But is there any skill that will make you go faster while in warp? Thanks again folks!

If you have a second account or a buddy they can webify you while you are aligning lowering your max speed enough to put you into warp nearly instantly!

No skill, but there is an implant:
Implant slot 6: * Hardwiring - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' HY-2 (15%) * Hardwiring - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' HY-1 (10%) * Hardwiring - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' HY-0 (5%)

Also leadership skills, being in a little gang can add 10% to agility and tanking...

If you're in a gang anyway it wont matter as you'll just trippleweb to instawarp.
