I have no idea how to ask this???
What skills do I need to make need to make me need less materials to make stuff with a BPO?
I want to get into this area of EVE and need some help.
Sorry so vague.

You will need the skill Metallurgy to research Material Efficiency on the BPO itself. You will want the Production Efficiency skill to level 5 to reduce the waste you bring to ALL manufacturing jobs you do. Level 5 will reduce that waste by 25%. |

Do I need Metallurgy to 5 to do this, make the BPO so it requires less materials?

All Metallurgy V does is reduce the time it takes to research your BPOs - useful if you're researching a lot of BPOs. (it does have other uses - pre-requisite for scrapmetal processing iirc).

No, Metallurgy decreases the ME research time. Metallurgy is usually not a required skill to be trained to do ME research.

The key word is usually, there are some BPOs where Metallurgy V is required to do ME research, but for most basic BPOs it is not required.
