The new Scorpion model is AWESOME. Now, please make it symmetrical! :) Click here to see the symmetry failure That's all --------------------------

As long as the major features are symmetrical, minor asymmetrical features only make it look better imo. Just look at the Millennium Falcon.

Perfect symmetry is ugly, especially with thinks with heaps of detail...
Best example: faces. I bet you like it if a girl has a symmetrical face, however I think you will be horrified if you took a picture, cut it in half and then copy/flipped one half over the other to make it be perfectly symmetrical.

space is full of... well.. almost nothing, so there's no drag. slight asymmetry, as long as the mass on both sides is about equal, works and just adds to the overall look imho.
now the placement of engines on the other hand... there are some models out there that wouldn't be able to fly in a straight line even if they wanted to - but i guess (without a certain example in mind, but there are enough) the one engine on the far right is simply three times as powerful as the 3 engines placed on the other side of the ship... that's at least what i'm telling myself all the time. :)

To be honest I like the lack of symmetry in the current scorpion model, would be nice to see a few more asymmetrical ships

Caldari ships are utilitarian and designed by committee. i liked it back in Red Moon Rising when they were ALL asymmetrical. there was a charm about the ships that said "this isnt every other space game".
theres no drag in space so there is no penalty for flat faces and asymmetry. personally im dissappointed with the new scorp model. im quite happy with the strange over the shoulder scorp we have atm. when they 'fixed' the ferox i was sad. and gradually more and more great ship models have been gradually been pressed back into a symmetrical mould possibly to reduce texturing complexity, possibly because the symmetry crowd shout louder than the asymmetry supporters.
in short, break a wing off the new scorp and leave iconic models be. -

ok if your that picky about how the ship looks id be willing to bet that your one of those types that needs everything to be JUST right. I'd also bet that you can't stand it when the M&Ms in the bowl have two of the same color touching each other.

The new scorpion...It's just TOO symmetrical. The old one is jarringly asymmetrical, the new one is "Hey guys I'm symmetrical Can I join the pretty ship club now?" in the "trying too hard" way. Y'know? It just looks ugly. Everything in moderation. Wait. I take it back. Its mostly just bad camera angle. But its still too symmetrical.

Simple fix for both sides & nightmare for the drunken art dept:
MK1 and MK2 versions!
MK1 is what we have now. MK2 is the same ship, but cut bow to stern and mirrored one side to the other. Functionality is identical for both vessels. As are blueprints (you can select MK1 or MK2 when you initiate the job or maybe even assemble the ship after you buy it).
