Three severe quakes now, although thankfully two of them without severe loss of life. First the one on Haiti which where around 7 on richers scale. Now there was another one outside Japan 6.4 on richers scale. And now a few days later this quake in Chile on 8.8. I dont like it. At all.

I grew up there and lived through the earthquake of 1985 (magnitude 8.0).
This one had around 30 times the energy and no doubt caused some massive damage but unlike Haiti, chilean infrastructure is built with earthquakes on mind and, although not at the level of a developed country such as Japan, it has resources in place to handle these situations.
Chileans are used to a big quake every 10 years or so, they hadn't had one since 1985 in that area so they knew they were overdue
My guess is they will need help but not at the level Haiti did.

-Yes.. why no Plex for Chile? r u racist?
-This is the problem w/ liberalism... now you'r obligated to spread the wealth.
-CCP just need to focus on being a great company.
-Let the USAID and other NGO programs do their jobs. Stay away for liberal ideas, and social obligations..
-If you really want to help, collect and donate internal within your own company & staff...
-Now, we as a consumer has to wonder.. why not CHILE? why not DAFUR? Cambodia?
-Can the public demand that 20% of your profits goto help the world? otherwise the public will label you as a bad company? (can you see my points?)

If Yellowstone pops its gonna be a wee bit higher than 3 million dead. Try the majority of life on the planet sans deep sea creatures and the lucky few who get away in the sekrit government/private evacuation vaults.

Well that sucks, just when everything is rebuild, another big quake decides to stick its head out and cause mayhem again... But then again I cant really approve of any of this because this is my signature |
