Originally by: Vizirion Signed for reconnect and posibility of moving drone's from cargo to drone bay.
Definitely sign that coming back. Now we have drone bandwidth, there's no reason not to re-implement transfers from cargo to drone bay again.

Try dcing in a fleet fight when your fighters are in mid warp. scanning them down can be an impossible job sometimes and its gets pricey when its a full set.

I distinctly remember there used to a third drop down menu in the drones box that said "Drones in Distant Space". Once you got in the same grid as your drones (not anyone else') you could reconnect to them as if you'd never left. I thought that was the greatest thing ever and then it went away. ='(

At the very least, make it so that NPCs de-aggro from drones who become orphaned when the player disconnects.

Yeah...that would solve it....we would still have to pick them up......but the game would be a little less annoying. Reconnect...or aggro reset when client dcs.

Edited by: Glyken Touchon on 21/03/2010 14:36:40 an alternative would be to allow you to tractor your own drones if they're abandoned due to DC/accidental warp-out.
Would prefer the reconnect option, though

Reconnect to lost drones... Awesome idea, fully supported.
IMO it should apply to any of your drones on grid, not just within your drone control range.

A 9th high slot for "A.I." modules would be nice, which controls your drones. Before you enter the battle you can open a "tactical management"-window like we have it in Dragon Age, and set commands like "Enters combat > Attack Frigates" "Frigates dead > Switch to players primary target"....

There's no question that drones are the least effective weapon in the game due to the ridiculous micromanagement required. I think this is main reason that Gallente is the least popular race. Unfortunately CCP shows virtually no interest in improving existing game elements or fixing bugs. Its all about adding more ways for the megacorps to blow each other up. There should definitely be a "reconnect to lost drones" button that works within control range of your drones, but that's not nearly enough. If the devs gave half a damn about game balance they would add two other features for droners ( at the very least):
* Return damage threshold: adds a setting to your drones that tells them to automatically 'return to dronebay' when they have only a certain percentage of armor left. Default would be 50%, with presets of 25, 75 and 100% on the menu (which would mean they return if their shields are depleted). If the dronebay was too full they would return and orbit until there was room to dock, which they would do in the order they returned to orbit. * Drone-oriented ships such as Myrmidons and carriers would actually repair drones while they were in the drone bay and assembled. This feature would require Repair Systems I, with repair speed improving by 5% per level. As for balance, I would suggest an Ogre I with 5% of its hull left, in the dronebay of a person with Repair Systems I, would take about a minute to fully repair. That's more than balanced.
