One time one of my amarr characters and some other nublars from the IAC went down to rescue someone who was trapped in a dead end low sec system from some camping sniper battleship.
We had about three cruisers and maybe 5 frigates, all ready to go get him. We were almost there, forming up on the last gate to jump into the camp he had set up, when he comes through the gate, apparently he got tired of waiting for people to undock from the station. high sec so we couldnt do anything, but we had a standoffish moment with him. He accused us all of being an alt fleet, but we were just a bunch of helpful newbies coming to the aid of our comrade ;_;
Ive also had several experiences where i managed to get 2 or 3 other people from the newbie corp together in frigates to go out hunting in low sec. This was back when low sec was more populated by belt ratters and miners though.
I like the starter corps.

Odd you posted this. More odd you actually found it.
Operation Echo Vector (The Milk Run Rescue) showed me that NPC corpies would group up and head out into dangerous space if given the opportunity. It gave me the final push to start a PvP training program for CAS pilots. That program is celebrating it's 2 year anniversary this week.
Eve has many more PvP pilots, and subscriptions, that stem from my training program and Operation Echo Vector is directly responsible for that.

Also remember that the vast majority of npc corp players are alts of player corp players who actually know what the **** they are doing.

This has got to be a lie, a lie and SLANDER against CCP! CCP has said that people in n00b corps don't ever interact with the rest of Eve! They even raised the (mission/bounty) tax to >GASP!< 11% to encourage others to join REAL corps where they could interact with real players more!
EVERYONE knows that the only people in n00b corps are (/drumroll...) n00bs, 0.0 logistics bunnies and lvl 4 mission alts! NO ONE would ever come to each others assistance in a n00b corp..
God, I can't believe you guys fell for this troll...

Very few pilots that are in corps pay any attention to NPC corp chat. They are usually busy doing there corpie things. I spend a lot of time in 0.0 and that results in me mostly ignoring CAS chat, even more so since CCP nurfed NPC starter corps with the random selection of tarting NPC corp with the character creation.
Here is a video of CAS in action. I posted it in my CSM election thread so have no problem posting here. This is after my ship was podded and I wa not FCing anymore. I can't use Voice and record at the same time. Please note 2 things... all T1 ships for CAS and no pilot on our side had a pilot in a player corp. All of the pilots were peoples mains at the time.

It's true, at any time there's probably only around 10 or so people active in the DCMI chat out of the 300 or so that the channel reports.

I remember one time we set up a lowsec roam in Hedion University. About as spectacularly unsuccessful as this. We got about a half dozen frigs, a Caracel, and a Harbinger. Harbinger got popped as soon as we entered lowsec by a gatecamp. From there we got shadowed by a Pilgrim (but were too noobish to realize it) until he brought the wrath of gankville upon us in the form of a massive gang of everything from AFs to battleships. All for a bunch of noobs :-(

As the default FC of Operation Echo Vector I take offense with this statement.
Everyone made it to the high sec gate and could have jumped out. Those that did not wish to engage did not, we did have a pilot in an Enyo withdraw.
I gave the order to attack knowing things would not go well. It was done to provide the PEW PEW PEW that was needed. The purpose of the gang was to get Echo Vector and his milk running Iteron out of low sec and that mission was completed. Nothing wrong with going down in flames just for the hell of it. It's just like when I baited flippers in an a Battle Hulk. I did not need 200 million in faction fitting to do it but I did. I also left older faction fittings I replaced in the set up in the cargo bay just to make some flippers day when the Hulk went boom... it never did though. It is still out there.... waiting...

Hi, I'm a pirate. I approve of this. Carebears with attempted teeth fail horribly, yet have awesome fun! What more can you ask for? It's not about winning, it's about fun! Go CAS!
