Trader Jen	Posted - 2010.03.04 01:59:00 - [1] Preferably a new merc corp looking to get on the map. I cannot currently afford any of the brand names or the semi-established mercs out there. The target is two corps, around 35-40 members total. They play mainly in the US timezones. Please post here and I will be in contact.

Ultimately the really good groups are expensive because they're really good. You really do get what you pay for in the merc industry. When you hire the lower end, cheap groups, don't expect too much. When working with not-so-popular, inexpensive mercenary groups, I recommend a pay-per-kill system. This way you don't end up dropping 100m+ for a week of war and zero results. Just make sure that both sides are perfectly clear on the terms of the contract. Hiring The Skool would not be a bad move. You may also want to check in with Murderous Meerkats and Uncle BoB on Crack. Stay away from COPAS like the plague. They have cooties and have reportedly been spending their most recent job in stations recovering from their cootie infestation.

I recommend checking out the Merc Contracts channel in-game, as there are a number of merc corps there with varying sizes, reputation and price ranges. Terrible mercs, they wardecced us and their only kill of value (shuttles, I am afraid to say, don't count) was an hour into the war on some idiot in the alliance piloting a freighter. Yeah we all gave him ** for not reading his mail, and he gave us *ty excuses for dying (such as "I just came back from vacation"). Anyways. Not my problem, and I didn't lose any isk so I could almost* not care less, except it inflated the Night...thingies'...egos even more. The point being that Deprived of The Skills to Minimize the Excessive Verbage and Adjectivity in Our Names is not a very good merc group. Since said loss of a freighter and a shuttle we have lost a frigate and a cruiser to them, while we've destroyed a frigate and a battlecruiser. I guess the freighter may help justify the wardec but come on. Get some kills or get some skills...
