so i'm a gallente pilot who wants to crosstrain a bit.
is amarr very compatible?
i know they do armor tank and i think some of their ships are drone capable too.
is there any reason not to crosstrain to amarr?

Only reason not to crosstrain is to focus even more on a specific race.
Crosstraining to any race is always viable to give you more options. _______________________ We come for our people! |

I would highly recommend the Healthstream HS20.E as an excellent cross training. While it is a little more expensive than the HS1.0E the addition of the heart rate monitor means you can focus your training much better while not going overboard, allowing you to train for longer. The build quality is very good and its very easy to assemble once in your home. New bounty system. Always, I want to be with you, and make believe with you, and live in harmony harmony oh love! |

hell no, gotta go with p90x! add some perfect pushups and muscle milk for best results!
don't need to use anything more than the body's resistance + gravity for an awesome work out!

Be aware, also, that the shoes you select for crosstraining are very important. You have to fit them to the pronation of your specific foot- if you have fallen arches, you need support on the inside of the shoe. The opposite is the same for high arches, but it isn't as pronounced. This will make the wear patterns symmetrical and spread the load across the entire foot, which results in a few things:
1. Reduced shoe wear. They'll last longer! 2. Less load on your joints and shins. This is the best way to avoid tendonitus and shinsplints, and god forbid you get a stress fracture.
Finally, make sure you run on grass! Sure, asphalt is straight and level, but it's less fun and has less give. The right selection of shoe and running area will make your crosstraining that much more enjoyable and useful!

Amarr is fast to crosstrain to if you have gunnery skills as well as armor tanking skills. If you train amarr without gunnery skills, it's pretty much just ships like Sentinel, Arbitrator and Curse that will perform well. Then again, if you only have drones, that's going to be the case whatever you crosstrain to.
The main reason not to crosstrain Amarr is that you're looking to fly something Amarr is not good at - medium/small pvp ships, for instance.

Amarr is very good cross train even just for zealot (proper sniper hac) and the recons. Up to you whether go so far as t2 fit BS which are also very good (I didn't bother because very content with Gallente BS).
