10 minutes ago, an FDU commander flying a Punisher called Nestan Darejan have deliberately searched for an IPI commander flying a Dominix at Intaki Planet VI - Belt 2, and opened fire.
The IPI commander, Tarton Macleirio'n, returned fire in self defense and destroyed Darejan's frigate.
This is the transcript of the local chat when it happened:

Tarton Macleirio'n > I really don't understand that Nestan, now that I look at your history, clearly you would know that you couldn't beet a bs in a frig

I can only think of two reasons for that to have happened:
1) Darejan is just stupid;
2) Darejan was working to provide FDU with a 'false proof' that IPI is actually fighting FDU vessels in Intaki.
I would ask IPI leadership to be warry of this event before things escalate into a snow ball of bull****.

We have that in place, Mr. Erian. Vechtor felt it was important to quickly publicize the IPI account of this event as a pre-emptive move against the possibility of negative propaganda. Perhaps it was unnecessary, but given the unusual behavior of the FDU commander, it was probably better to be safe than sorry. I mourn the unnecessary loss of life, and I hope that this will prove to be an isolated incident.

I would not be surprised if he were hunting Serpentis bounties.
Anyway, confirming that anything is possible if you believe (and are bored). Frigate hulls can be used to destroy larger, supposedly more inherently powerful vessels.
A drone boat such as the Dominix, though... I wouldn't have bothered, personally, but if the pilot were young enough in his capsuleer's license as to cast his skill in fitting and flying the ship into doubt, then maybe I'd give it a go.

One would have thought that the text during the original engagement was more than enough to exonerate the IPI - and therefore they really wouldn't need to post on IGS.
Is IPI trying to build a case for declaring a "defensive" war on FDU corporations?

Considering the public hostile actions by some of the FDU (individuals and enlisted corps alike) in the past, this is a premtive action, makeing the record public while the actions were still fresh in the pilots memory.
Posting this now to make facts available before somebody tries to make a claim of it otherwise 6 months from now.
(I have a well known FDU commander in mind who would do this, that person has not replied to this thread yet)
due to accusations against the ILF from the past, based soley on year old killboards, I feel this was justifed in bringing making public. So all parties know of it, no mater how trivial the event was.

So, the larger players in the FDU such as QCATS, SOTF and so on are to be held accountable for the actions of one lone FDU pilot who is not affliated with any corporation signed up to the militia? That is like holding the ILF accountable for the actions of one ethnic Intaki pirate, is it not?

Let me first address the incident at by saying it appears to be a misguided act by a lone pilot acting out of boredom and bravado. The corp she belongs to is one which the IPI has no previous relations and no reason to suspect of treachery.
ILF pilot Vechtor acted in haste in making this post, but did so for the reasons already explained by other members of the ILF command structure. We are not fighting a defensive war, but are ever mindful that we have been tried in the court of public opinion before.
As President of the IPI and Suresha of the ILF, I see no reason to pursue this matter any further. The pilot in question committed a foolish act and lost her ship as a result. Any crime has already been punished.

Mr. Inhonores, like it's been said already, Vechtor was just making sure nothing went south by explaining what happened. Perhaps the tone may lead you to believe that it is a passive agressive attack on the FDU as a whole but I think that it is just the opposite. He in no way stated that any of you are responsible for what happened. I hear reports of militia members attacking their fellow comrades all the time, so of course Vechtor nor the ILF find anybody who isn't this specific pilot guilty. Just making sure that tensions aren't made any worse you know?
