Edited by: Eldred Jonas on 29/11/2004 03:15:16 I'm having the same problem. Anyone know why?
I'm running a GeForce2, and rings were fine until today. I upgraded my drivers a couple of day ago.
EDIT: The problem only appears on some rings.

Edited by: Pasiphae on 29/11/2004 11:04:02 Same problem here. Using a GeForce4 MX 440 with the latest drivers.
Some rings are ok, others have the white square around them. |

Same problem too. Using MX440(yeah I know it's old) w latest drivers. Changed from LOW planetary detail to MED but didn't help.

Same here, seems to be on geforce mx440 cards perhaps, and not on all rings either.

Actually this is not the first time i have graphic problems specific to MX 440 when playing a game (last time was during Dawn of War Beta this summer). It's just thet the card is crap, don't think devs can do somthing about this

I have a lowly MX420 and am experiencing similar issues with rings (uh, squares?)... but not ALL the time...
For instance, the planet at the gate from Zirsem to Nakis (in Khanid region) has a "square" ring... whilst the planet at the gate from Nakis to Zirsem is absolutely perfect (no "square", just a nice looking planetary ring )... I struggle to see why the "square" artifact is a problem with my (admittedly poor quality) graphic card when it's not consistent?

I remember I used to have that problem with a very large number on ATI and nVidea cards. It has something to do with the way that rings and other textures are rendered onto a square, but that the parts you don't see (but do in this case) should be totally transparent. It may have something to do with the driver, or the settings of the driver, but I cannot remember precisely. Try to turn on features, and if that doesn't work, you might consider trying to turn your video acceleration down 1 notch. ---
