Hi,
since i have finished the first ship modelling contest, i thought about serveral upcoming events around it.
The link of the last contest u can find here.- > First event
This contest will run as same as like the other one.
To seed out more prizes,it will be splitted up in serveral categories.
Categorie 1 : Ships (high) Details :
1. Prize = 1 bn isk
2.Prize = 500 mio isk
3.Prize = 250 mio isk
Categorie 2: Ships (lower) Details:
1. Prize = 500 mio isks
2.Prize = 250 mio isks
3.Prize = 100 mio isks
Categorie 3 : Moduls
1. Prize 500 mio isk
2.Prize 250 mio isks
3.Prize 100 mio isks
This timeô the comiteeô is looking for a deepspace ship (prototype)/ or modul, which is operating in areas like the Oorth cloud.
Every Prototype concept of a ship or drone / modul is allowed. But be sure that the entrance is made by your own.(wireframe pa example...), Otherwise there is a great chance to get disqualified from this.
The Timeframe is 1 month to polish your sketches ,maximum detail/texture your 3d ship models, or let your little homemade engineers build up legoships / stations.
Some short words about the role of the ship would be nice.
Depended on the number of entries, there will be little rewards beside.
The entrance fee u pay, is the time u invest into your Prototype. No isks needed
So feel free to join, and be creative to win.

I had buy C4d include serveral moduls some months ago, and can only say, it was a worthfull investion.
But i fear , rendering a clip with all the possibilty is a way to much for my Pc.
So it will take a while.
-
The comitee is waiting for the first entries, and hope , it will be also sucessful like the first request for prototypes.
Good things will take a while to prepare, so entries will be taken to the 11. may.
Beside the meeting, an informant has taken some material from them.
It shows a "calmar" drone include a platform on a protoplanet.

To remind,
everything from sketches up to completly 3d modells is welcome.
Every entrie will be rewarded with a small sum of isks.

New stuff from there engineers: (-early prototype- front and med section)
"Nail"- Deepspace industrial comand ship- front -med section
Inspired to transport sattelites, accerlerator-gate-components to deepspace.
Sattelites will be anchored every 20 k au , and will be connectet like a chain to activate the gate.
Informants tolds us , that there mainfocus is atm on the locking slots, which lock the componets on the hull. The hughe size of this components, will make a cargobay to heavy.
It would take a hughe effect on the jumprange, of such ships.
Probally u have an idea to add locking slots to it?

Ps: It s a fun event, and will not have any effects on the game. It s made to show creativs.

When sattelits are 20 k or more au`s away from the empire, defence vessels will be probally to late, when the sattelit gots under attack.
So automatic defence / repair- maintenance/ assembly vessels, controlled by crew members should be stored within the sattelit hangar.
Or informant gots some little informations around this.

It s motivating to read that People like the grafics.
I use Cinema 4d 11.5 version( 780 - 840 euro ).( include serveral Moduls like Advanced Renderer- Thinking Particles... 300 - 460 Euro per modul)
The modul based upgrading make this program not that expensive in the beginning.
There are realy good tutorials around the internet, which brings u step by step into 3d Modelling.
I learn from them, include getting tips from serveral forums i`m in.
I hope for some entries around this event.

i have done some design for you.
this is an exploring cruiser design to go out in search of minerals and report back to mothership

the ships can also send out large drones which is my 2nd design for further investigate and defence, it has waepons and drill for mining into astroids field.

The comitee was pretty close to stop this event, because of low interest . Seeing the first entries, prevent them from doing it. So this event will going on.
Thank you Lani sun for your nice ship and drone design.

There is no limit.
The comitee is thinking about, increasing the deadline for this competition, to see if there will be more entries.
The result will be postet in few days.

Ps: I` m thinking about buying a wacom tablet too, but no clue which ones would be good for the beginning.
At least drawing courves and corners with a mousse within the "bump" channel isnt that easy , like with a pen.

They fear that the get conquered by other teams, which could break thoose path.

IT `s motivating getting more and more experiences with C4D. But i cant compare it to other software for now. At least it s all a matter of money <-> hobby.
The comitee is courios to see what u will design, and hoping for more entries too.

Ok, I managed to finish my entry. I have provided two different views of the final product, its design in Cinema 4D, and a blueprint page to see the overall layout of the ship design.
The ship is a Caldari prototype battleship designed to operate efficiently on its own or in a fleet. It provides a devastating advantage in battle with its 8 turret configuration. It's primary role is to attain a command presence in any system.

A Quick entry from me, not up to the high standard entered so far but its like 12:30 am here! lol thought id get the excuses in early...
Anyway:
Caldari super carrier: Armidilo.
Basically 4 massive engines strapped to what is basically one huge hangar with command structure ontop. powerful sensor array on outrigger to keep away from em emissions of main ship. Relies on its very heavy armour and large compliment of smaller craft and drones as well as its one turret hard point.
