Not only are there no real game mechanics outside of word of mouth or forum searches (coulda used one but which really are outside of game mechanics in a literal sense) which could have aided in an informed decision how far to trust an individual as one could have in any practical environment (like real life)
game mechanics are blatantly on the side of the petty thief.
Only satisfaction is petty theft being all most can look forward to with their toon after pulling 'the big one.'
Unless you deal with the few established probable ccp alts (out of 300k active accounts? Handful of forum dwellers? Game mechanics FAIL), your best shot at business as a casual gamer is to buy for a dollar and sell for two, which you can do in a rip-roaring single player game of port royale, complete with risk taking and pirates lol.
Give up constructive activities like business or industry or politics or warfare altogether and drink beer and pick your nose and troll canflippers in local till you get bored or it's time to get to bed.

You are better off in MD where people seriously suggest SP subtraction or debt sanitation mechanics for people who won't keep up their sides of business contracts. >_< CCP-CSM finance report

That is ridiculously overthought.
Look at the standings tab when you clicky the info thingy for a capsuleer.
Where inter-player standings should be is a bunch of semi-worthless info on npc corp and agent standings.
CCP creates an intricate and deep business environment and then proceeds to deny us even rudimentary tools to research and come to an informed decision on what dealings if any and how far to go in dealings with any individual save a few established forum dwellers.

Guess you got scammed :) I do like you however, as you seem pretty cool with your loss. Too bad Tyler lost some of his excessively honest reputation, but now we can all see that Tyler can be a bit of a rogue every offday (bad boy you! I'm sure yo momma didnt raise you that way!).
But meh, you can't trust too many people in eve online, which you prolly learned the hard way again :) More luck next time I guess!

I find this an odd circumstance to tarnish your reputation over.
I mean according to the deal he would have gotten the BPO, which he did.
And would only need to provide a wyvern @ build cost. Which as far as I understand he would lose no money doing?
As for the OP I can't say he really lost all that much. I suppose now he'll have to buy a Wyvern for a little more? But in the end I guess he loses what... 3-4 billion by not getting a wyvern @ build cost?
Correct me if I'm wrong, I actually don't know how much wyvern sell for.
