guys, Ok, so there was this big flash and my ship turned into what looks like an egg, did I level up?

yes you did
Now for the next level you must take the egg go to a place called "Amamake" or such, jump to the "Amamake" solar system, and wait 5 minutes at the jump gate.
You can speed up the wait by saying "YARRR!" in the local chat(case sensitive by the way), and mentioning you will be waiting at the entry gate.
You will see a smaller explosion, and you advance to the next level. This new level features you in a station somwere. It's very exciting

Sounds very familiar... I guess your next question is about a little ship you happened to see in lowsec/0.0? It was a frigging templar, and your late by several years.

And people say I make bad forum threads...but then, I am Shura, whatever goes wrong in EVE that isn't blamed on CCP or (former) Goons is usually thrown at me anyway...
It's real simple. Your ship is now an egg. To hatch said egg, you must fly around until your ship has matured enough to burst from its cold shell. I have found that flying in regional hubs like Dodixie and Amarr and especially Jita helps, due to the large numbers of people, your egg will respond to the general noise presence of ships 500x its size nearby. Also, places in 0.0 have specialized egg trainers, characters who dedicate their entire lives to helping eggs hatch so that new players like you can grow just like your ships.
When your ship has hatched, usually preceded by "What? Xideinis' Capsule is evolving!" then you have leveled up.
