An anomaly can be scanned with the system scanner though it's better with a probe (bigger range) You do not have to pinpoint it to warp to it as you do with signature sites. They usually do not have the potential for good rewards as the signature sites do.

Anomalies can (very rarely) escalate. Standard combat sites which are not DED rated can also escalate, but DED rated sites don't do so in my experience.

They usually do not have the potential for good rewards as the signature sites do and AFAIK they are always combat sites, so no gas clouds, asteroids, hacking, salvage, wormholes or sites than can escalate to better drops.
good info, but since you're actually answering the question, a few corrections
(In 0.0 space) Anoms are currently better reward per hour than Radar and Mag sites. They are even better is per hour than some combat sites. They do in fact escalate on occasion to higher level combat plexes that can be worth much more. They do on occasion contain stuff to be hacked/salvaged - though this is usually not worth doing.

I was generalising but thanks for correcting

When you use the LMGTFY, this thread is the first result. Holy recursion.

There's a glitch in the matrix! Quick! Man the harpoons!
But seriously google, <2hrs is pretty quick to send your nanohamstercrawlerbots all over this site. Maybe the server hampsters at CCP and the server hampsters at google have some type of "arrangement".
