I have a few questions and a suggestion towards cyno visuals.
Questions: 1.) What happened to the previous cyno visual? Was it too much of an issue for the servers when used en masse? 2.) Cynos should look different to that of basic jumping because i'm assuming they are two different ways of transporting ships, one is a form of wormhole and the other is demolecularisation?
Suggestion: Change cyno visuals to somthing cyno specific and similar to the previous cyno visuals but not so elabourate. For example from what I remember the bigger the ship coming through the cyno the bigger that huge web like cone would be, why not just simply make it much smaller, similar to the cyno visuals we have now but not looking the same as gate travel.
Yes this is not needed in terms of game mechanics or vital towards a better eve but introducing ideas for visuals is almost as important as game mechanics because I can assure you now that if eve was purely browser based it wouldn't be as popular as it is now as a fully 3D sci fi game.
Am I seriously the only person to dislike the new cyno visuals and long for somthing as cool as the older ones? It just doesn't look interesting any more.
(By the way, the answer/argument of "CCP have more important things to do than change some silly thing like this" doesn't hold any weight. I say this because every single last damned post about visual changes or graphical changes to eve that doesn't affect game play always gets some moron assuming that CCP ignores any idea that doesn't affect game play. *carries on raging in the corner*. Yes I do now realise that someone will now automatically post "CCP have more important things to do than change some silly thing like this" because I mensioned it, just wanted to point out that that person is a moron lol.)

personally, id like to see the old jump effects return for jumpdrive capable ships.
Tho, given the lag issue loading a big system, perhaps a good compromise would be to have the old effects for jumping out of system, and the new effects for entering system. this way, the old effects give the representation of the ship being squeezed out of normal space and slung across the universe only to "poof!" appear at its destination only a moment later out of a tiny pocket of w/e "subspace" or something *shrugs* its what i would prefer personally but w/e

The Jumpdrives are AFAIK either a oversized warp or a mobile stargate. The Current effect doesn't look bad, but it's too similar to the gate jump effect...the old one was much better.

I really miss the old cyno effect, the new one is lame.
It was worth sticking around just to see several dreads cyno away after a POS take down. It was no more heavy on the server than the new one is, the server tells your client where and your client shows the visual.
