I decided to inject and start training this skill. I have done two missions since I have achieved level 1. From the two missions (level 4s) I have received bounties, but NO security status change (negative or positive), in almost 2 days?
Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas?

You dont always get security sector gains from mission rats.
Since fast talk is---Skill at interacting with Concord. 5% Bonus to effective security rating increase.
1.05 times 0= 0

No, I recently used fast talk to get my sec up from -10, and it worked great for me.

Yeah future mutant, what are you talking about??? You just train up fast talk. It's not like you have to SHOOT PIRATES INSTEAD OF EMPIRE FACTION AND DRONE NPCS to increase sec status.

Do you happen to be at 5.0 ? There are only 2 or 3 missions that can push you past and you may get to about 6.3 from memory at max skills. Anyone with higher got those standings before changes years ago.
Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

thanks for reply, ive only done 2 misisons so far, i dont have a lot of time to run level 4s (as in a drake they take forever lol)
I will try some ratting in belts to see if they go up

sec gain itself is ok but i have had the same problem with sec gain from missions.
given that:
- 20 min wait after you killed the last rat in a system
- sec gain only from pirate npc
i have had times where even after waiting an hour (afk for food) there had been no sec gain.
this is from missions only. ratting works fine.
i dont think it is fast talk related as i do not have the skill trained.
have petitioned this but not gotten a reply yet (4th day now).
