Heavy pulse lasers also work well on a rax as it lets you apply optimal damage all the way out to 24km.

If you can afford the fitting space, a damage control also is nice.

Needs a cheapo 3% PG implant. Works very well for solo roams, doesn't cost much when it pops either. ECM drones give it some capability to engage outnumbered, against faster ships and still get out when its armor hits the deck (which is generally after one or two them pops, heavy electrons can run overloaded for a long time compared to ions or neutrons), or the odd guy in a Rapier that thinks he's got an easy kill after he throws a web on you.

Please explain how that fit is cheap. Seriously. It will be amusing.

This. You could switch out an EANM for another MFS, if you want a little more gank.

Why has no one linked a shield Thorax? Instead you link Electron-using plated Thoraxes?

I've never been impressed with the shield Thorax - blaster ships, especially solo, absolutely must fit scram + web. Even plated, a Thorax is still much faster & more agile than a Brutix - an overheated MWD gets about 1700m/s and can run down some targets if you miss the tackle (or are engaging a gang solo) but if you're not good at starting the overwhelming majority of your fights at point-blank range I'd suggest flying a Matari ship instead.
Also, if you can't afford a full T2 fit w/ T1 rigs you might want to stick with frigs.

Quoting for emphasis. Plates and Electrons have no place on a real 'gank' fit; Ions are acceptable for a gank fit if fitting Neutrons means that you drop damage mods for fitting mods. T2 modules have no place on a real 'throwaway' fit.
Some of the other fits are fine for a Thorax mind you, but most of them are neither 'gank' nor 'throwaway'. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

What is an expensive fit depends on the ship. 20 mil for fitting a t1 cruiser hull IS expensive, while 20 mil for fitting a t1 battleship hull is a throwaway.
