IÆve been presented with a problem. I planed out a hauler alt using EVEMon (seriously awesome program btw) who was to fly gallente transport ships. However I did not realise that the skill that goes beyond the 1.6mil will not be trained with the 100% bonus (I assumed the skill would be trained with 100% bonus until 1.6mil was reached ). The problem here is that the skill that puts me over the limit is G. Industrials V (worth aprox 900k SP), so instead of being trained in 7 days its going to take 14days.
The skill puts me over by 160k SP, so I was wondering if it was possible to lose 160k and then train the skill with the 100% bonus.
Details: -Current SP 950k - Rearranging skills is not a good option as I have already used one mind map to optimise for Per, Wil - This should have been obvious from the EVEMon plan, you might say. Well yes it would have been, however on a spur of the moment decision I decided to throw in an additional skill (without checking with EVEMon). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

1) make sure you have no clone 2) clone jump to a clone with no implants [see This] 3) pod kill yourself [self distruct out of a ship] 4) see what you've lost 5) ??? 6) profit

minimum (default) clone is 900k. i doubt you'll be able to lose 160k SP from 950k. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel |

My alt didn't lose the bonus until the skill finished. She started a level V (was a Cybernetics, IIRC), with the bonus, and that pushed her way over 1.6mSP, and the bonus was lost when she had finished training it. |

This.. there was a bug that allowed any skill you were already training to continue to train @ 100% even after the 1,6 mil SP had been reached. I ended up with Hull Upgrades V out of that deal.
It sucks that they fixed it, because new players needs any little bit of extra they can get IMO. |

Ehm, that was still the case at the end of 2006, when people already had 50M sp at least.

Hey, dude
Go off plan and train something else. Or, who cares! it's hardly any SP at all.
But mostly, train something smaller. That's what I did. I'm sure there's skill you need that don't require more SP than you have left to lose bonus.

Edited by: Tess La''Coil on 23/03/2010 11:31:44 I had the same dilemma around 1.1m skillpoints wanting to go for Mining Barge 5, I decided to train all the skills available and needed for flying a Cruiser, and all sorts of other upgrade skills to level 3 or two to get the most of my 1.6m bonus speedpoints.
Eventually you might want to use that char for more than only hauling, say you want to use an Orca or something.. and then you can make good use of tractor beam skills, salvaging and a bunch of shield and armor skills.
I went for electronic warfare and boosted all drone skills for the missioning cruiser.
Also you might want to take a dive into leadership skills for some cheap squad bonusses that would take twice as long to train after the 1.6m.
Basically.. just fill the gap with level 1-3 skills that you "might" need in the future.
I also see people wanting to get into a Hulk asap.. why? I beats me, since you're missing out on all the fast mining bonus skills, and the electronics, shield and armor skills. Make sure you're good at the total picture, not just able to fly the ship.
Warp stabelizers, hull upgrades, survey scanners you name it, its bound to be usefull somewhere along the line!
Hope that helps a bit!
