RUSE certainly looks promising, apparently very strategic as RTS games go these days, I just don't like that it uses Ubisofts rather annoying "always online or get kicked from the game, even if your connection just hiccuped for a second" DRM though. So I won't be getting it until I can grab it somewhere in a bin for Ç10 or less, no way am I paying full price for that non-sense.

Unfortunately this is the same conclusion I've come to. Which is a shame because I am loving the hell out of the public beta. It's definitely the spiritual successor to Blitzkrieg in many ways, which makes up for the disappointment of the SupCom 2 demo.
Still a WWII game, but I think they've done enough to pull it off as CoHs did a few years ago.
Massed artillery was one of things I enjoyed the most about Blitzkrieg, and bloody hell R.U.S.E is that on steroids. Tank battles are also scary as all hell as you watch hot shells whizz everywhere.

I didn't like the gameplay videos but I haven't actually tried it yet, so I'm reserving my judgement.

not incredibly thrilled with the game from the demo on steam.. it looks like it would have an epic scale, but Im not really so sure..

I've been on the beta and I bloody love this game, the feeling you get when someone quits when they launch a huge assault against you and falling at your first line of defence just for your tanks to emerge from radio silence near his base Sky. ---------------------------------------------- Jumping Gates is like a box of sweets

Was looking forward for this game since it was announced around a year ago. Was planning to buy it the moment its made available for pre-purchase in steam. Ever since Assassin Creed 2 (also wanted it since november) and ubisoft's DRM, I did not buy them.
The new DRM of theirs is damn terrible. Even their DRM servers were DDoSed by users and people couldn't play (from maximumpc.com news). RUSE will have this kind of DRM. I even heard the beta have DRM on it... My money went in favor of Mass Effect 2 deluxe edition instead of AC II.
10 bux both titles and I'll deal with DRM, but nothing more. But doubt that will happen in two years or so. ----------------------------------- Peace through power! |

Tried the beta on steam and it's really not what I expected, I was expecting the ruses to be a bit more complex, but you really don't even need them. I was vaguely excited about this game, but not any more; I'll give it a miss. |

Derp. Didn't realise that this was an open beta. Downloading this now, the DRM is a major turn off though.
