Yes folks! Look Here.
As you can see here CCP is working on Ambulation/Wis/incarna since 2006.
We had a demo during the Fanfest 2008.
So, whithin 2 years, that is before 2012, we will probably (that means: maybe) have Incarna!
I've read people that stated that incarna would come out this winter. Every Year they say that. Imagine how frustrated they are now.
A lesson from this is that if a software house does not announce a release date for something but says "we are working on it", it's completely stupid to listen to them. Making the customer dream of a feature such Incarna is probably a good marketing strategy, it creates hype and encourages them to look for info on the internet, to discuss about things (they don't have any clue about).
I want to say to all people that are waiting for DUST%!$ or Incarna: don't wait anymore. CCP wants you to scream and cry for every little bit of info that comes out. They want you to lose your time speculating and dreaming, writing senseless things on forums, You are the best advertisement for their products.
Stop your hype, stop waiting. It is just like a waiting a girl on a date when she said "Maybe I'll come" smiling at you, but she will not come. 4 times. Are you there again, waiting? If so, you are stupid.

And why should we stop wanting information? Are you enraged that there's not more information available and want everyone to stop writing senseless things on forums so CCP "gives up" and releases all details surrounding Dust and Incarna? Sounds like you are just the most speculating and dreaming guy of all. -

OP should listen better to the interview..
he said they gonna release it over the next 2 years, not IN 2 years -> the whole walking in stations thing will be split up into several releases just like they do with upgrading graphics.

The actual phrase used was "will be released in various stages over the next 2 years"

Likely they had big plans, then when that first crossroads came up they had to decide whether to put manpower on some shiny but ultimately useless feature, or on something that would actually improve the game.
The only mistake made was announcing it in the first place.

Well the 2008 fanfest thing was promising, looks like they're actually putting some effort into it so it shouldn't be another Factional Warfare (which feels like it was hacked together in a week, despite being 'worked on' for 2yrs)

You should not stop wanting informations. You should ask for a release date.
I stopped speculating a long time ago. I just don't listen anymore to software houses that announce things without a certain release dates. They will never say to you "it's coming out in 10 years" because people will lose interest in it. When people said "probably incarna will be out this winter", CCP did not negate this as any softco would do, because even if it is wrong it creates hype for the game/expansion.
They of course have a forecast, a rough estimate on how long it takes to develop a product, otherwise it would be stupid to begin an endeavour without assessing the amount of work it requires.
Here is my thesis: software companies don't speak of release dates on purpose to create hype and utilize fans as free advertisement. Fans often speculate and dream, make fansites, and their dreams and posting are all free advertisement for a product.
CCP behaved well with planetary interaction: they put their stuff on the test server so that everybody can test it and see, and so imagine what stage of development the features are in. Anyway nobody knows what the result will be, as some things have not been decided yet, so we can't say "it's 40% complete" beause we don't know the objectives. But we had a release date that is before of summer solstice, and the illusion (or not) that our feedback is somewhat listened to.

OP sucks
Diablo III and other games from that softco are a good example. I am not criticising only CCP, I criticize all software companies for this behaviour.

Hype is not a limitless resource, and if games go to that well early there won't be any energy left when they're trying to make sales.
Plenty of people would have agreed with you awhile back, but we now know that doing that sort of thing over the course of 4-5 years only inspires bitterness and even mockery of the product, the best you can hope for is that it simply won't live up to all the expectations.

So CCPs master plan all this time was to get me to dream about Incarna all day. Riiiiiiiight.

You can have two types of software releases.
1. Date driven - these start out with a certain feature set and have features cut to make the date and quality gates. These generally ship close to on time but often are less functional than expected. This is how CCP seems to manage expansions.
2. Feature driven - these ship when all the features are functioning as intended. These NEVER actually ship. Or if they do they are no longer competitive or reflect the market. Another variation of these is the worst kind, they start out as feature driven but evolve as technology and markets change, these REALLY never ship. See Duke Nukem Forever for a perfect example of one of these types of projects. Nothing is ever good enough and it never gets released. I think CCP has chosen that type of project model for Incarna.
Basically I think the real problem is that no one at CCP really sees walking in stations adding anything important to their vision of what Eve should be about. So the to some degree they are doing it because someone somewhere thinks more folks might play Eve if they can be more than a spaceship. So it is seen by CCP as more of a technology showcase than a REAL improvement in the "Eve experience".
Honestly, I think CCP is missing the one experience that would be classic "Eve" that walking in stations could add and should include. Mugging! CCP needs to add walking in stations and include some way for the folks that love stuff like can flipping and suicide ganking to mug folks walking in stations. Of course Concord would show up after it happens, tell everyone to "move along" as there is nothing to see here, then rifle through the pockets of the victim to see if the muggers left anything behind.
Now that would be walking in stations "Eve style"!

I never started to go wrong. But I see many people that were somewhat "deceived". Of course CCP has never given a release date, so we agree on the fact that it's their own fault... but you know, CCP never denied those woices, they just said "maybe".
But I am sure they have a release plan, a roadmap, and someone actually know when things are coming out.
