Edited by: Dame Death on 14/03/2010 20:46:55 Pilots, As I find myself settling down at long last, I have to ask has anyone else found it as hard as I have to find their place?
I have worn a lot of colours in the past two years. I can still remember wearing PRETA's all that time ago and yet its taken me this long to feel at home.
As I settle in for the long haul, I realise my crimes against the republic outweigh any of my others, however, with time I hope I can earn trust and the right to call myself Matari again.
So back to my original question, am I the only one that found it so hard to find a home?

Home is where you drop your arse at the end of the day.
Also, after only fourteen days you are sure this is your final stop?

You would do best to submit yourself for judgement now. Repentence will save you cleansing when you are taken.

This human has already submitted to Emperor Manfred. Your statement is invalid.

No, but I'm an odd case compared to most I suppose. I was raised knowing that it was my birthright to rule the people while serving them, and also my birthright to serve the Kingdom and through it God. My entire life was given to me on a silver platter and though I have wandered from the table a bit, so to speak (My mother and father don't much like my current company) I still know what my duties are.
My place has been set and I find its position desirable. Many are not so lucky.

No, I suspect that there are many who feel the same way because they do not question the indoctrination that has been drummed into the collective conciousness of mankind. It seems to me that you are beginning to scratch at the surface of this collective delusion.
Stop wearing the colours of another and expecting to find self-actualisation through achieving their goals. Dedicate yourself to yourself.

Edited by: Lord Makk on 15/03/2010 12:19:14 It's a joke, I assure you.. The soul part is merely a contract you sign upon entering TDR that you are now heading from your normal self to new and epic proportions!
But no more derailing, I'm sure she'll find a good home with us, we'll take just as good care of her as we do our other employees and ensure that Dame Death has everything she needs to blow up slavers.
Anyone else got a soul to spare? we're in need of good capital ship pilots.

Not to touch on any specific instance but,
Point-of-fact: Dame has a rather undeserved reputation which sometimes leads to pre-judgment and thus incompatibility.

TDR is a very successful community, it is not a surprise that such experiences stay with those who attain membership.

Much like Mr. Death said, I've searched quite some time to find a "home", my place in the capsuleer universe, until I finally build it myself.

Poreuomai was preparing for his training as a capsuleer when U'K made their famous broadcast in Minmatar space.
It was his friend Dunametha Touto Poiein who told him about it.
Poreuomai knew from that moment that his destiny was with the anti-slavery forces, be it in U'K or other organisations.
As I was recruited into U'K by Poreuomai before I even started my training as a POD pilot, the issue never came up for me.

This gave me pause, and then cause for hope, I had thought perhaps capsuleers dementia had taken Dame Death, fortunately not. Freedom is terrifying but must be embraced, circumstances cannot force persons as radically free beings to follow one course over another we should look within. For this reason, we all choose in anguish: knowing that we must make a choice, and that it will have consequences. Dame Death has lived this anguish: whether to adopt an 'objective' moral system to do this choosing for her - which all who do, do so essentially inauthentically in bad faith, terrified - or to truly become herself, I salute her rejection of mauvaise foi, while raising a glass to those still currently lost, to fallen comrades to Zerofaust.

Eliza...
You are one of the very first people I had met straight out of the Academy. You and I spent many an hour kneeling in the Basilica, praying for redemption, for forgiveness, for answers.
You're still searching, obviously. Searching for a home, a place to belong.
I do believe that in the end you'll come back...and until then?
I will be there still...this time, praying for you.
Take care out there and know that, despite our different loyalties, I still consider you a friend.
Shalee. |
