I, like many, have turned to the darkside... My scam is that I fly up on a minning group and steal the cargo from there containers...This is severly lucrative and most time the people don't even notice (since they aren't watching there ship mine)the few that do notice can't do much about it because if they open fire the get a bad security rating and since I don't have a bad security rating they can't put a bounty on my head... twice I have had people put me on the bounty channel but no one has killed me...
My problem is I really don't like doing this! I'd like to join a corp make some friends and find my niche...right now my speacialty is driveing a FAST indy with in order to steal.
Maybe someone can recommend an line of work for me or a Corp...I hate mining...I was thinking of trying to find a "dark side Corp" that needs an indy, but I've decided to see if you all could tell me of a better life.
thanks for your input!

You are already on the right path.
m0o can always use a good indie pilot, but I'm afraid we have recently become very very selective of our members. :) _____ m0o

Man, I know how you feel. Everytime I see an Indy I get this urge to stasis and jam him, and then tell him to Pay or Die.
*sigh*
do I need a therapist?

Why don't u just do it?
I'm not a pirate myself but I am being hunted down like one. Always in my cheap to beat ships. I'll return the favor someday. ---

Anyone remember that post I made a couple weeks ago about how stealing cargo containers was a gateway crime. Here is the proof.

what do you mean a gateway crime??
The beauty of it is that it's not considered a crime because those stupid containers have no ownership like a droid does...

Better watch out for people like me who ride shotgun on my miners. I've got a 9.9 sec rating and killing an Indy doesn't bother me one bit. I could kill you 4 or 5 times before I actually had to worry about my sec rating.
Surprised more people aren't like that. Who cares if you lose some rating when you're so high already?

Hmmm not a very trustworthy rep you have there eh?
if you are deadset about going straight you should contact the corp leaders in Exiled Enterprises and see what they have to offer.
Look up a guy named Scipio or join the exiled channel in game. good luck either way!

Not being a miner, can someone briefly explain to me why mining operations need to have all these containers hanging around ?
Are we talking about a momentary appearance as a ship passes minerals to another, or do they just chuck them out and leave them floating for another team member to pick up ?

They leave them floating in space for another team member to pick them up since their cargo goes full by then...
Anyway, i rather recruit people who actually do something instead of leeching from someone else...
There's more than beeing a thief... Be a trader, build ships... whatever...

The way I tend to do it is mine and drop when my cargo is full. I stay with my containers until my mates industrial turns up (back from delivering the previous load 4 jumps away). When we arrives he loads the containers and he's on his way again. Meanwhile, the containers start to build up again.
If you are mining and selling in the same system then you can have your indy next to you most of the time, picking up the containers and putting them in his hold when you drop them. But if the indy needs to make a few jumps to sell it, theres bound to be time you are mining when he's not there for you.

Instead of stealing the cargo, just shoot the containers. Now THAT would be evil. Mmmmm.. pointless evil..

Sheolyn, why do it that way? refined minerals take up much less space than ore, so why not just refine it at the closest base, and then transport it all to your sell point later, when the mining op is over? that way the Indy has far less far to go, and thus makes it all more efficient.
Back on topic, Godsent, try doing some free work for a corp you're interested in to get ohn their good side. First impressions count.
Then of course, once you've gained their trust, you can screw them for everything..... :)

we like to simply fly in the middle of them and smart bomb all the containers.
locking on and firing is too time consuming and doesn't have the same 'punch' to it as the simultaneous destruction of all cargo pods in a 4000m radius. _____ m0o

GodSent, if that is the name of your main character, I would vote against my CEO letting you join our corp even if you kissed my hairy Minmatar ass 20 times.
From what you describe on how you make money shows that I can not trust you. And that I would have to keep a sharp eye on you whenever you were near me just to be sure you wouldn't shoot me in the back or rip us off in the future.

Godsent,
I hope all the lame thieving pieces of trash like you are reading this post; because this is a warning.
I have spent good money to have other players whack scum like you, and I will continue to do so for as long as it takes to get my point across. I hate thieves! __________________________________________________
