I moved into a new house recently, it has a heap of photo frames with crap pictures in them, so ive sized them all up and started hunting for game wallpapers which look awesome enough to take their place.
Im thinking yeah, eve should look awesome in one of them...
Off to look for wallpapers...
All i find is poop on you're website :| i mean realy, when did you last update it?
Seriously, ive seen threads with promices of updating it here and there, including a promice of the moving wallpaper from the eve convention, which is nowhere to be seen.
You're doing awesome CCP with keeping you're word, im sure Dust514 wont be a dissapointment at all.

These are brilliant, however none are high enough resolution for a poster :(
oh well, plenty of other games out there that update the content of their websites more than once every 5 years.

The official wallpapers utterly destroy the stuff you're linking to, which looks comparable to what I could make in a few minutes of photoshop.
Most of the official selection has been relocated to the features pages, as new ones get released with each expansion as part of the media/PR package. Go look there and be ashamed, or something.

He's right though that the websites desperately needs an overhaul. It's not so cool to have to look for wallpapers somewhere buried on the promotional pages of individual patches (which in stark contrast are always done quite well).
The whole website looks fairly 1990 to me.

You're kidding, right? The logic between having an old, outdated main sidepanel of information, with the newer stuff hidden underneigth the coresponding expansion.....
That logic sends potential player's towards screenshots of something that looks like their playstation 1 could play and the realisation that the company running the game does a halfarsed job and doesnt even have the time to get its own website up to date in a user friendly fashion.
Dominion - 3 wallpapers
Apocccocococococrophia - 2 wallpapers, both are exactly the same and two are still "coming soon"
Trinity - 4x wallpapers
Empyrean Age - 4x wallpapers
Id like a wallpaper which would look good inside a photoframe on my wall. Something that hopefully isnt limited to a single faction ship copied and spammed in different sizes onto the pic (Dominion) or perhaps something a little more than a fart cloud in space colored in 2 different shades (Quantum Rise)
Empyrean Age's only good one is the Minmatar one.
Trinity = soso.
I am still Dissapoint.

TBH I agree somewhat with the OP, the forum and website could use a bit of love with the thought of making it a little easier for people to locate things like wall papers, videos etc instead of the somewhat half assed method they currently employee that makes the website look like it was written by a drunk viking....

IMHO, since CCP has changed a few of the UIs in game, it has given me a taste as to what good UI's are.
Now looking through everything ccp has. it really really reallly needs a complete overhaul with all the UIs.
This thread is just another bit of proof.

Use Photoshop after downloading the highest res file you can find, then in the "Image/Size" tool, change res to 240 DPI first... then increase image physical size 10% at a time.
Thats the best way to get the best print resolution file from something smaller.
If they are tiny tho (ie 5x7 @72 DPI) you cant do much with them...

I have them both printed in A3, they look nice, their just bluetacked to my wall.
Was looking thru hoping to find some high resolution game wallpapers which are worthey of sitting in the photoframes.
No official Eve wallpapers i deem fit to even sit on my wall, most wallpapers from this site seem rushed, Multiple pictures of... Stations... and more stations.... and planets with a station!!
And the ones that focus on ships, all the same kind of ship or 1 faction only... yes yes we know this is the storyline of eve, 4 factions, hate eachother, yadda yadda yadda... but in game itself? Goodluck finding that. Fleets are formed with all races/colors/styles, put some of that into a wallpaper! c'mon!
then there's just this 1 picture of a ship, copied, resized then pasted back in a few times on a space background and uploaded/labeled as a wallpaper.... its sad.
I may not play eve anymore as it's lost my interest, but i genuinly thought it would be able to provide a worthey wallpaper, ugh, so angry/dissapoint!

<gasp!> What are you talking about? Next you'll say our state of the art UI is as user friendly as the awesome Excel 5! 
Seriously though, I think CCP said something about doing it on purpose because they wanted to keep the site compatible (read: very basic) to avoid issues with the IGB. 
And creating two versions of the main site (one being eye-candy and flash enabled for regular browsers, and the other being IGB friendly) may be not worth the effort for them *coughmediumshadercough*, I guess.
So they leave the cool stuff for the new and returning players who are the ones checking out the trailers and all that, and let the old geezers like us enjoy the funky -and always fashionable- 90's technology.
Which by the way is what I was complaining about in that reasons not to play EVE thread.  |

That + before i stopped playing i recall reading about how the Dev's were promicing an update/overhaul of the site, AND a downloadable theme for Win 7/Vista which was the Amarr moving background from the Fanfest, which seems to have lead to another dead end.
allthou i agree with ya on walpapers.. but they did give w7 / vista videos not exact one at fanfest but similars lemme find url for ya / its here : Amarr-Minmatar-Gallente-Caldari Hangar Videos as i said its not exact same one at the fanfest but they are cool too (except ESPR notice at the start and ccp logo at the end :p so u need to remove them for makin these backround)
(oh damnit serpent alrady gave video while i was afk :p )
edit : added linky for videos
actualy on walpaper side they have some video program for making their "cgi" videos and in that a lot of good walpaper wise "scene" exist they just TOOO lazy to put on web site i guess (latest dominion video have tons of scene worth to be walpaper or splash screen its awesome too.. but u need to photoshop them on your end....)
