I notice many new traders around in market discussion asking for investments, there is a ton of resources here on the sticky's to read of course, but most are of no help to those starting with nothing and not sure where to start..
I'm by far no expert but I started with dirt and am pimpin with nearly my original goal of 10b in my wallet, and have tried a little of everything and gotten some usefull knowledge in my few months here, I posted some threads with story's here already, but thats just tip of iceberg and doesnt give multiple paths towards your goals. if you don't want to say: grind missions for instance etc. , have to beg.. etc.
Everyone knows you need money to make money, before investing your time and small reserves of ISK i will guide you towards that goal. with important tips and tricks, you can implement to get the most out of your time and money trading in the markets.
That is why I offer you, "Syal Market Guidance", Not just a few useless bits of data in your evemail each week...but a wealth of knowledge. even what music is best to listen to while traveling and updating market orders! and I will take questions each week, and reply to everyone with the weekly news letter. and try to answer and cover each ones questions. and give detailed paths to those goals.
To be added to the list it will cost 5mil per week, [minimum 4 weeks]
Thats not all!, as a introductory offer, I can't do this for long ..
i will add a extra week for the first 10 who transfer 20mil to my wallet.
This thread will be for questions, also looking for MD regulars to help!

Good idea. I've thought of doing something similar in the past. However, will you have an audit done to confirm your claims of success? I'm sure you realise that anyone can say they've made 10 bil plus in a few months and then take money off the back of that. But it doesn't necessarily mean they have.
Subject to audit I'll sign up for this.

also this is for a service not investment :P i'll be working my ass off to fill out ppls questions and research anything i dont know of (cause i aint the best, just wanna help others! and give a props up). i'll be doing interviews and diff features each week on traders and IPO's. (some being multi part series) the goal is to get at least 20+ ppl interested so can compensate for interviews/help and ads on ppl's blogs etc with isk

I myself won't need an audit but it may be a good idea for those which 20mil is a big investment and as your target demographic is new traders an audit may bring you more customers.
Will you be starting a channel for your subscribers?
I'll join up to see what kind of info you have to offer. Trading information is always valuable whether it be good or bad (I have no reason to believe your info will be anything but good btw). I'm currently making about 500mil per day in station trading and I came to Jita with only a couple hundred million in my wallet so there are definately 'rags to riches' stories out there. And hopefully your info can open up new opportunities.

I'm not saying it's unbelievable, just that it's a good diea to get confirmation of basics before taking money off people. If you apply to Setrak, the MD audit fund might fund a basic fact check. And I would be happy to provide some help once you get things going.

Too much constructivity (is that a word?) in this thread.
What guarantee is there that there will be "a wealth of knowledge" every week? Will there be a seperate fee for archives? Will knowledge be repeated over the weeks?

Maybe a trial would be good enough to show prospective members what benefits you could bring? This would also shut up those wanting an audit.

Edited by: Drab Cane on 17/03/2010 18:29:56 I would suggest adding a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee".
Fact is, very few subscribers will take advantage of the guarantee if they get anything useful from your newsletter.
The money-up-front, minimum-4-week makes sense, even though some new players will not be able to participate.
Edit: the guarantee should also help you get past the audit-thingie. -----------------------------------------------

@RAW23
I'd like to collaborate on this newsletter!, all funds made can go towards costs & improvements, its not like i doing to make a buck, lets work together on this! you and me bro
@Estel
Naa i dun think it too ambitious, and i never said it would sweep people off feet, it depends on how many want to help and contribute and give time to do interviews on topics i am covering each week, they will see the effort i put into it...
@Alex
Not sure a trial would work with alts :( & ya if i was aiming for public funds i could understand now i see how things can go without one and also all the bad things going down in our hood here in MD
@Dreb
normally i would... but no one in MD is ever happy!! i learned that my first few day looking at threads, but i guess if they give good reason i'll refund, i aint out to rob anyone or make anyone cry like a b****. that aint my scene
&In closing
I plan to start this out & launch first week in April, I got some material but would like to get those who want to help and a format sorted, maybe some advertising setup, and not sure if it should have a channel or not as theirs to many of those already. the releases will be private mailing list to keep anonymous.

I would get into this as well if you could show an example of the knowledge you want to share. You are not doing it only for the money right ? So you have to know how to make the big money. I would be glad if the knowledge would be something like : how to search market niches, which tools use and how to our advantage, what to do when you have made billions from only few millions and the speed of making money slows down, where to move from there, etc... I hope its something what you can use and apply in any time, not just current trend as the contracts trading tips as it was mentioned above in some threads in the past. If it will be any info like I wrote I am in. (sorry for my english)

Hellinsane, no not doing for the money as the time i put in will most likely be 10 fold what i could make putting effort elsewhere. also I don't say i know everything, but this will be more like a magazine, having few articles of different things and interview's. so yes a wealth of knowledge just not solely from me.
I like those idea's you give as well, When i do such a feature one week i will want to also interview a few known traders and such and they could give tips and why they do certain things and what they learned in their early days etc. I plan on covering 2-3 things a week. and maybe a traders corner with tips on some less traded items or items/activity's picking up. think of this more like a weekly magazine! its for knowledge but also entertainment. I will try to keep it fun but also informative.
Also subscribers can submit submissions for idea's or topics they would like to see investigated, or covered. I still got a few days work to sort out final format
and Turiel, not sure if thats compliment, but thanks

All right, I really like the whole idea if it will go as its meant. Um, I dont want to talk into it, but I think its not good idea to give exactly some tips for items to trade, it will just ruin the idea discovered and showed on them, rather to show how to find these items, what to look for on them and so on. Just what came to my mind. Looking forward with this idea. |

To me that kind of sounded like you'll be knocking on the known traders door for the 'juicy' stuff. Obviously for beginning traders that information is (yet) irrelevant, but from what I can see most of the interest is comming from more settled down traders looking for a few things they might have overlooked themselves.
So do YOU, or anyone you work with on this project, know this, or will you rely on the goodwill & charity of others to reveal their tricks? Because if the later, it might turn up empty if none of them are willing.
Apart from that, nice initiative, might sign up myself just to see how it works out.
Good luck :) |

For this business model, it is probably not a good idea to put out a trial copy of his newsletter here. If Syal does a trial copy to quash the critics wanting an audit, he'll have to include some of his best stuff in his first issue to avoid being flamed. When you are trying to run a subscription service, putting your best stuff up front is a good way to get no long term customers. You put out a good hook in issues 1-4, a nice worm in issue 5 and then reel them in for as long as you can while figuring out how many issues people will put up with until the next worm.
That said, to me, 25 mil is not much of a risk to see if the worm is tasty. I think he'll be successful in this venture. If it is a scam...even more so. |
