Might be worth cosidering a different points value for navy factions and pirate factions considering they are in compleatly different leagues to eachother.
appologize if theres already been a thread about this.

Why though?
Faction BS are all good in their own ways but it's going to be able to be officer and deadspace fit so this will make any point cost requirement redundant as people will be spending billions on a single pimped out ship. |

i dont think a point cost can become redundent under any circumstances in the upcumming tourney, also i particularly braught this up with faction cruizers and frigs in mind, i just feel that we wont see any navy ships on the field if they keep a equel points cost to the recently pimped pirate factions, if u go commparing fleet stabbers to cynobals or fleet firetails to drams theres prety much no comparison, although the difference is slightly less obvious with the battleships its still there, give someone a reason to run a navy mega over a vindicator or a fleet tempest over a machrial. Rather then another option for wallet size to make all the difference. |

Obviously I'm a completely stupid.
Ok the other smarter reason is *drum roll* you'd have to change the value of all ships by tiers.
For example the tier 1 battleships are effectively weaker than tier 2 and the same for tier 3.
Do they have different point values?
No
Have they ever had different point values for pirate faction and navy faction?
No
Have navy ships always been the underdog?
In most cases yes, yet the points stay the same. |

...im getting the feeling im wasting my time here but anyway... no you wouldnt have to change ships by tiers besides for that being compleatly irrelivent to navy faction classes being differently valued to pirate faction classes, ill humour u a lil more. believe it or not your probobly going to see more scorpions than you are rokh's more megas then hyps and more tempests then mealstroms. because *drum roll* each one accels at different roles.
historicaly yes navy ships are often reguarded as a lower skilled sub hac sorta ship, and pirate faction ships were well... a pretty hull/name u could lavish lots of isk on tbh (pre speed nurf mach excluded) now after the buff id say they fit in above the t2 classes.
back to topic, i dont think we will see any navy faction (cuizers and frigs specifically)in the upcoming tournament
weather this is a problem or not idono but its just something that may be worth considering, |

I'm just explaining CCP's logic as it currently stands as I can currently see it, personally i'd like to see all the points for each classes and a number of points to spend for each class area with the 10 player limit.
I.e. 4 points in battleships
pirate bs - 4 points navy bs / marauder - 3 points tier 3 / black ops - 2 points tier 2 / tier 2 - 1 points
or something just as stupid, so people can field a fun amount of ships with still an area of choice. |
