EFT warriors, get ready. I want to know what T3 subsystems you absolutely cannot find a use for. Things that just don't work, no matter how hard you've tried to find a use for them. Subsystems that gimp a ship, or try to do something another ship does, but fail at that. Please explain WHY you think that subsystem fails at life.
I'll start with one: Loki Offensive - Hardpoint Efficiency Configuration It tries to do mixed weapons systems, but lacks CPU to make use of those weapons and still fit all the other modules it would need.

proteus - wake limiter - just not enough of a bonus to make it really do anything noticable (ab bonus one would be alot better)
legion - energy parasitic complex - weak bonus poor damage with any setup.
legion - covops - in general fits using this have more mids than lows and poor damage.
most t3s - augmented cap - just plain crap, a cap bonus that gives less cap with its bonus then the recharge one does! completly stupid 'bonus'.
proteus/legion - drone synthisis - poor bonus with poor fitting options

I hate how when you do reverse engineering you get random BPCs. I just started with tech 3 production. I did Minmatar offensive stuff and ended up with a few of the cov ops sub system and a large number of the hardpoint efficiency one. Hate it. Their market price barely allows any profit after RE and material costs. ----- 'In Eve, as in real life, if you are bored it's your own fault.' |

Yeah, it's a damned shame. I really wanted to like that subsystem, too. I actually like mixed weapon systems, when they're done right.

i agree this is really not good for the t3 markets, only makes the popular ones soar in price while the others crash and burn. Some might even not be worth building at all, this was a poor move by ccp to randomise the output esp while some subs are clearly broken and or totally crap.

I personally don't like the covert op cloaky ones, as they make your 500-600 million ISK ship which the only thing it can do really well is grief local.

sometimes it's not about the bonus but the slot config.
on the tengu is either +3 lows or +2 lows and +1turret/launcher.
sure you can use the powergrid one for the same effect, but it won't be as cap stable.
on the legion, base cap ammount is same for both, the proteus is weird (only has 1 cap bonus sub), and the loki is similar to the tengu.

If only there was a region of space with no local...

I fail to see how cloaking with your 40km tractor beams is really useful...
Just kidding on that one. Put down the flame throwers...
Probing is a nice feature, but... you'll have to uncloak to drop probes and they'll show on the d-scanner even if your ship won't.
Its just a lot of ISK for a ship that has a very slim target selection and doesn't stand up well to conventional PvP fits (you know, in case that bear you probed out actually has backup...)

The last few times I was in WH space, I spent most of the time daydreaming that somebody would drop a T3 killmail on my head.

I'm getting one T3 kill per week roaming WH space, on average. This week's was a Proteus.
It's unpredictable... you can spend all evening going through empty system after empty system, then the next one contains an Orca and two Hulks in a site, or two Tengus duelling 300 km above their POS.

Do you use a cloaky/scan Tengu for this?
I have been running a few WHs with SBs, get some kills but an SB can only do so much :P. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Gypsio III on 18/03/2010 12:41:34 I cheat.
I use my alt in a cloaky proby Proteus, with Gypsio providing DPS/neut/RR support in a Typhoon or Fleet Typhoon, with an abundant supply of Crash. You can make a cloaky proby Tengu that looks competitive with a Proteus (less tank and gank and no drones, but selectable damage type and doesn't have to go into scrambler range to apply that DPS), but my alt is a one-dimensional Gallente character (originally bought as a cap alt) and can't fulfil the supporting BS role as well as this character can. Often corpmates are available in support also, but it's very easy with WHs to get scattered across the galaxy when people don't play at exactly the same times.
The lack of DPS on a cloaky T3 is a problem, given that the average ratter T3 is well-tanked, to say nothing of passive brick Drake spam. My first WH T3 "kill" self-destructed before I could drop him (didn't have Typhoon support then).
