Bill Gates recently announced that within 2 years, Microsoft will stamp out spam from it's mail service completly, mainly through the use of filtration systems.
This week, Lycos came out with their own method of Spam prevention. Basically its a legal DDoS attack on the spam websites. Not enough to completely shut down their domains, but enough to push their bandwidth limit over the top and cause their monthly bills to skyrocket. In theory, bankrupting the illegal spam business.
Join the fight! This screensaver only uses 3-4MB of your connection per 24 hour period.
Or hell, even if you're curious check it out.

41,000 screensavers online and rising, spam is going to feel the burn now.

It would be way more helpful to close all open SMTP relays, at least that would reduce SPAM way more than this silly DDoS.

Good idea, while you figure out a way to do that I'll enjoy annoying them with this silly prog as I hate the bastards. |

It's pretty easy to close all open SMTP relays, just hire a decent administrator. ;x
By the way, ordb.org has still 225.000 open relays in their database, go figure.
